I have the same car, It is awesome no problems at all 140 000 miles runs like new. I flush all the fluids, change all filters, changed all spark plugs and spark plug wires. Ceramic brake pads. Go to a great mechanic and have them do a 3 step fuel fuel injection cleaning service. Make sure they use BG products. It gets rid of all carbon build up The car roars now. Also use royal purple engine oil it is better then mobil 1 one oil. It drives like a race car now!!!! Also use Trico Titan wipers they work the best. use royal purple oil filter also change the serpentine belt every 80 000 miles to be safe. If your cube is 2014 or older change the wiper arms. The spring becomes weak over time and dont put the right amount of pressure on the wipers to work correctly.
Sorry for the late reply, It is at the rear of the engine meaning towards the firewall. Unless you are very skinny with extra long arms I dont think this can be done without a jack.
Idle air control valve, to be honest I'm not sure if I have come across it. A guess would be bolted to the throttle body which is sealed under the black plastic intake cover. I'll do a quick video for you tomorrow afternoon, Thanks.

On the top left near the windshield wiper, there's a compartment. Does anyone know what that's for? Just curious.

Can the oil filter can be changed from the top instead of under? So that i dont need to buy a jack to lift it.

This model does not, the steering is electronic assist.

The electric motor to assist the steering is behind the steering wheel underneath the dash.
