I think it's very much possible for Tyler to end his career with a much better-sounding, more consistent discography than Kanye West, but I don't think Tyler has achieved actual influence in terms of other artists trying to replicate what he has. He just doesn't have anything comparable to what Kanye's first four albums did for music in terms of creating new genres and breaking barriers for more sentimentality to enter hip-hop. Take, for instance, Travis Scott, an artist who was very much brought up during Ye's Yeezus era and owes most of his artistry to Kanye West (and Kid Cudi, whom Ye made anyway). During the Utopia shows, Travis Scott said there was no him without Kanye West. I'm not sure if there will be any artist in the next 10 years who could say the same about Tyler. All of this is true for Kendrick Lamar too: the discography is incredibly solid, but no one is really trying to be like Kendrick in the same way that so many people have attempted to follow Ye's footsteps. If anything, I think Pharrell is the only comparable person to mention in a conversation about influence, and that's because Pharrell was already doing everything Kanye did before Kanye did it.
@@Bennate2838 I think Tyler’s influence is on the generation after Ye’s with people like X, Juice WRLD, etc. Ye still the the goat but Tyler trajectory is astronomical, the stock continues to rise with no real setbacks or low effort attempts at anything.
@@Mr.Worlds-mk8hb I'm hoping you're right because these last few Tyler albums have been fire. No one knows what music will look like in 10 years, but maybe he'll have a hand in shaping it. The future is good at least when it comes to Tyler 🙏
Nah bro. At the age Tyler made chromakopia YE made dark twisted fantasy. Chromakopia is a good album but it’s not even comparable to MBDTF. Also when it comes to fashion I don’t think Tyler has or will make something as mainstream as Yeezy.
@MALKAANIGUSSE I agree that yeezy has had more impact on clothing than anything Tyler has put out but the fact that yeezy clothing in 2024 is just bare minimum clothing dropped here and there is concerning
@@Mr.Worlds-mk8hb Yea i agree. I think as of now yeezy as a brand is over ever since adidas dropped ye but i feel like tyler makes pretty niche clothing for a very specific demographic yknow? i dont know if tyler can make something that everyone can wear.
No you are completely right, Tyler has his own style of music. Kanye at one point had this style too but now Kanye has lost his spark. And also he needs to stop the galaxy gas💀
I agree that Kanye has lost his spark but his amazing and consistent discography if we overlook 2024 will still stand stronger than what I expect of Tylers also amazing discography will.
Don't get me wrong I like tyler a lot, hell I even got tickets for his tour, but NOONE is kanye. The way he has influenced the industry is wild, he is one of the few producers that has a unique style. He has unreleased / scrapped material that lands tyler level stuff, and tyler is great and quite perfectionistic (So is kanye just to a further point) The things that kanye has changed in the industry, his discography and his unreleased work is why i consider him the best hip hop ARTIST - Not rapper, where he is also okay but not amazing but artist as in full artistry.
@@Mr.Worlds-mk8hb Really? I like to hear different perspectives, however do you think that Chromakopia will be the next My beautiful dark twisted fantasy? Mbdtf is timeless and don't get me wrong tyler is amazing but I am not sure if his work will stand as well in the test of time. Igor is about to turn 5 - 6 years old and it's still great but I do not know if it is "A classic" in the same sense as large chunks of Kanye's discography. Just wanted to explain my perspective further even though I understand and respect your perspective as well.
@@yoyojonas no but MBDTF happened 14 years ago which is widely agreed upon as Kanye’s magnum opus vs Igor, Tyler’s magnum opus dropped 4 years ago. In the past 4 years Ye has hit some pretty hard rock bottoms while Tyler has been smooth sailing and improving. Ye is still my favorite but Tyler is trending to do better. The fact that someone can even hold a candle to Ye is impressive.
I can very confidently say this isn't happening. Ye has already cemented his legacy as top 3 rappers of all time in terms of legacy, and has reached an almost unsurpassable amount of fame. While tyler has made some popular stuff, I think it's safe to say that tyler has already dropped what will be his best album of all time, and at the point in tylers career he is at, ye had already done much more legendary stuff. Another thing is that one of the main reasons in this video is about their fashion brands, which I really don't think is nearly as impactful towards their career as their music, and even then, I've heard of yeezys far more than any of tyler's brands. I feel like at the point that tyler is at in his career, not only kanye but other rappers up there with him in terms of popularity have already made it to the top (drake, kendrick, etc.). Another one of the main things you mentioned is kanye being a terrible person recently, and while I think he may be remembered more negatively for that, it won't mean that he had a less legendary career. TLDR: Kanye is unpassable in terms of legacy, especially by someone like tyler (Btw I like tyler a lot just hes not passing kanye)
@Xolnum I agree I’m a ye fan I just can’t help but notice a decline where everything Tyler is doing gets better and is far more sustainable. Like I mentioned before Ye is my favorite artist but 5-10 more years of Tyler will be very interesting to see.
Not in this lifetime, Kanye will die for the things he believe in, however it may be, be it the art, controversy or free speech. A fallen hero for some, villain for others, a great artist for some, a misguided revolutionary for others. Doesn't matter, there will be only one Kanye West. His mother named him right Kanye literally means "the only one".
@@satyarthsingh2276 I agreed Ye is Ye and irreplaceable. Still my favorite artist but his output has been on a downtrend since the life of pablo. Tyler has been on a steady uptrend for 10+ years, definitely worth keeping an eye on.
