Really interesting breakdown of Trotsky’s article and Luigi’s actions dude. I agree with a lot of your points, especially about the importance of the masses and how individual terrorism doesn’t really change the system. Capitalism just replaces the CEOs or ministers and keeps rolling. What we need is organised mass struggle: strikes, protests, and ultimately, revolution. Che Guevara and Ho Chi Minh both stressed that the power of the working class comes from collective action, not individual heroics. That said, I don’t think we should completely dismiss the role of revolutionary violence. Che, for example, believed in the foco theory, where small guerrilla actions could inspire mass uprisings. The key difference is that these actions were part of a broadet strategy, not just random actd of revenge. Violence, when used strategically and in service of the masses, can be a tool for revolution, but it’s not the main tool. The main tool is organising the people. Also, you’re totally right about the danger of hero worship. Turning Luigi into a saint or a savior misses the point. The revolution isn’t about individuals, it’s about the collective power of the working class. Che himself hated the cult of personality and always reminded people that the revolution belongs to the masses, not to any one person. One thing I’d push back on slightly is the idea that the context of anti capitalism has changed so much since 1911 that individual terrorism might have a different impact today. Sure, socialism isn’t as mainstream as it was back then, but the fundamental contradictions of capitalism are still the same. The task for revolutionaries isn’t to rely on individual acts to spark consciousness but to rebuild a mass movement that can challenge the system directlt head on. Anyway, great video, and thoughtful analysis. TL;DR At the end of the day, it’s not about one person with a gun or a bomb it’s about all of us standing together in solidarity! ✊ Peace, land and bread!!!
Give Rosa Luxemburg a read. She followed on from Trotsky's ideas and I feel like the proto-fascist fight she and her comrades had in Germany is closer to what we are dealing with today.
There's a very good reason why Aleksandr Ilyich Ulyanov is a footnote in history yet the whole world knows about Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov even a century after his death. Eyes on the prize!
You’re advocating for mass resistance- I’m with you I really appreciate your input- it’s intelligent, intuitive and inspiring 🎉 Congratulations on your excellent choice of cake maker
Mr Mangione’s act would’ve been more effective if done three months earlier before the presidential election. Thanks for the Theory, helps me understand the big fights of the 1960s and 70s, where (reading their files today) even the ASIO officers struggled to stay interested.
Epic... Love this work. More and more people need to know about this theory. Maybe they will understand the ideas of socialism a bit better. Instead of seeing socialism through the eyes of the bourgeoisie. The story of China's last emperor is an interesting tale to accompany this work.
I really dislike Trotsky and the impossibility of his 'perfect' revolution, but he does drive people to organize and form community, which I reckon I can appreciate.
Are we sure it was Luigi? I reckon he was framed so the cops could pretend they're not completely incompetent.
Whoever it was, the lesson still stands, comrade

This is assuming Luigi did it at all, and he can't have because he was with half the internet at the time
This is a class war psyop , divide and conquer.
Really good messaging mate. The whole point of collectivism, is well, the collective. Also, haven't read much Trotsky, must confess.

I don't follow your point about the election.

Killing a CEO, a person is a good thing?? A wrong makes a right?? What moral theory are you using here?
Great vid, you can't blow up a social relationship.

Just curious, comrade...do you dislike revolution or Trotsky?
Frida liked him a lot, I feel like she was probably a good judge of character 😉
