White fabric a small fan and some leds can make a pretty convincing fire effect. Disney imaginers have some good examples. I love your work. Lighting art is pretty niche, and your art is super original.
@@KingCovfefe that is my movement!!!!!! My passion is taking something that would have been useless or otherwise destroyed!! Thank you so much for your kind words!!
I have a lovely 1980s fake fireplace that has a tiny motor which turns a cylinder made of cellophane, this generates the red/orange flicker effect as well as provides a soft fire-like crackle. It originally came with a red incandescent lamp, but an LED flame effect lamp looks very convincing.
@@moconnell663 it’s totally ironic that you just posted this comment because earlier this evening I had the vision to use some sort of cellophane mixed with steal wool!! Thank you so much for sharing and I will post a video when I give it a try!!!
that is fucking sweet work!! , my grandad was a wrought iron artist in edinburgh, scotland. a lot of his work is still found down the leith area of edinburgh, i work in structural steel so its really cool seeing how detailed you can be with a plasma cutter. we just burn and grind.
I think it's stunning. I once made a fireplace doing something similar. When I did more artistic welding for a small shop, I enjoyed it. later I moved into erecting for a commercial business, and I lost interest. This is more my speed. Great work, hope to see you again.
@FarmGirlForged there's a saying I appreciate, " A creative adult is the child who survived." I think this is the truth. 💖 at least from my lifes experiences.
My first thought would be coming up with a design that uses positive space instead of negative space, inverting the design so that the art is the steel and not the holes. Either way super cool i wish i could come up with something nearly this awesome.
Very cool. Maybe even a paper cylinder would work or 3d print a translucent cylinder that's corrugated so it gives the light a sence of flickering. Maybe even torn pieces of orange yellow and red tissue paper podged together and then made cylindrical. Could even fade to a dark on the top end, idk. Even fabrics and resin? Idk. Looks fun though.
Have you thought about copper sheeting. You would have to determine the thickness but you could either apply copper foil inside the can before you start cutting or thicker sheets to solder onto the design. Allow the copper to define the rose on the outside.
Give up on the Edison globes and put a white frosted diffuser like a plastic sheet material inside and create the warm feeling using a warm white globe and a dimmer. The features of the Edison globe won't be seen through the shapes very well.
@@viscash3606 ahh, so, I will have to post some of my other materials that look good with the Edison bulbs, those are shaped differently they are antique funnels but I certainly see what your saying!!!
Id think some thin craft paper inside would be easy enough to pull off and get a cleaner look to it. Think like those Chinese/Japanese paper lanterns. Ship in a bottle it in place and add the lights after.
This is wicked cool. You are an incredible artist. I would enjoy your video so so so much more without the gaudy American flag in the background. Literally, anything else would be a more enjoyable backdrop. Your talent is awe inspiring.
Seeing a builder/creator who has the passion is great. Thank you for sharing.

Frosted glass or translucent glass might light up your designs. Looks great, keep it up!
Looking forward to more seeing pieces 👍🏼
Wow I love this!! Good for you!!
These would make great sconces in a rustic cabin. I can’t wait to see what you come up with!!👍✌️🇺🇸
@@Waveluth thank you so much!!! I just got an idea for the fire effect this evening, definitely will film!!!
That's truly some beautiful art, and a great reuse of something that would've otherwise just rotted away. Subscribed!

Drill multiple holes in the side of the barrel so you can push your rebar through anywhere you want
Reflective film rolled up an dropped in unrolled an allowed to touch the sides
