Bob Geldof is a truly clever, unique man that I have always had a lot of admiration for. Shame some people with no intelligence feel the need to make comments about his 'look' - unimportant nonsense. When you achieve what this man has in his life - then, & only then may you have the right to make negative comments. Find a job maybe!

I recently watched a DVD Mystify which was filmed in Germany and quite frankly I was shocked at how different he was. He was still a very good singer but there was something missing? If there were no dysfunctional families, there would be no great musicians, actors, actresses, lawyers, attorneys and salespeople. It is from pain that passion and a seeking to fill a void creates great expression and creativity. Bob has the courage to risk criticism from the ignorant and jealous. Life is a mirror. We criticize in others what we wish we had or hate about ourselves.
When divorce was not a option , incredibly creative people existed , creative people are born , not created through adversity , I think you need to broaden your perception of life. I think perhaps reading about the arts might broaden your view on human nature and it’s quality to be creative for thousands of years and not because the creative person was suffering some malady ……..

Perhaps divorce almost destroyed Bob but, he was the lucky one, as it did destroy Michael and Paula. Whether or not he meant to take it as far as he did, only he knows. But, he had a direct and heavy hand in the death of both of them. What I believe he didn't take into account is how this would affected the children. Peaches had quite strong feelings about all of this which she openly spoke about in recent months.

Also if you google the “POLICE STATEMENT OF PAULA YATES AND Belinda Brewin” Belinda talked of the endless toRture from Bob. Oddly later Belinda recently (for the bio about Paula authorized by Bob no less) said that Michael broke up a family - the same narrative Bob wanted in the media! This counters old articles noting that Bob Geldof was alread in a relationship with his next wife Marrianne before Paula supposedly broke his heart.

B4 she had to change her story after sh lost custody so he'd let her see the kids)
She kept telling the press that he was constantly trying to drive a wedge between her and her kids (and succeeded with Fifi) and not even allow occassional visits.
Read the "Police Statement of Paula Yates and Belinda Brewin" they talk about how he was constantly forcing them to change their plans and make strange complaints to the court. Bob wanted to drag this out to make Paula broke.
There was Rupert Everett to deal with before and during his marriage to Paula.

Michaels family now says he was leaving her. Then why was he so upset she wasn't coming to Australia! Why did he have the argument with Bob and was screaming something like "she's not your wife". He also loved Tiger Lily. You can see how good he was with her. It's such a tragic story for everyone involved. I don't think Paula was to blame either. She was such a smart, funny woman. One of the most tragic stories in rock and roll. Sir Bob loved her and I don't think he murdered Michael either. Nobody wins in this story.

Sir Bob says he loved his wife, his marriage breakup was blamed on Paula and Michael. So my understanding is that Bob was, at that time, living with his mistress who he later married. I don't believe they, Bob and Paula, ever had what we would call a normal marriage. I really believe that Paula should not have tried to take Bob's kids to Australia but just gone with Tiger and had a wonderful holiday. She made a bad decision and of course, Michael was lonely and missed his ladies. Such a sad ending. Also to note Michael gave Bob his house because Paula wanted the family home and actually Bob made out well on that deal because Michaels home was worth a whole lot more. So I really don't feel sorry for Bob and in the end, he even got Tiger which was a good thing for the little girl, she had her sisters.
BG should have made a compromise offer to MH.....that the Paula and the child or all of them could come for New Years. He knew the denial so devastating to MH, he knew MH was just too distraught. I would not have wanted to hurt someone so bad. No way!
@@janebraun4482 Perhaps there was a court order that until the next hearing (the first one got postponed), she was not permitted to take the children out of the country unless Geldof was also accompanying her. I am in the US and many times people are not permitted to take a child out of the state they are in until custody has been ruled by the court.

Also Paula had a choice to make, a tough one, to recognize she could not 'win' against BG, and just move to Austr to be with MH, perhaps carry on the battle from afar. There are always options.

It may have been a case, however, that if Paula did leave the other daughters and just go to MH with TL, BG could have accused her of abandoning their daughters. People do all kinds of crazy things in custody cases. So maybe that is why she did not want to leave the other daughters behind. Here in the US, actress Goldie Hawn went to leave for Paris (?) for a movie shoot. She left her children with their father, her husband, Mark Hudson and the housekeeper. Apparently Goldie was involved in an affair and when Mark realized she had left he contacted her and the two argued about her affair. He then decided he wanted out of the marriage and moved to a hotel temporarily, leaving the children in the care of the housekeeper for a few days until Goldie returned. Because of this action, when the couple was in divorce proceedings, Goldie accused Mark of abandoning the children and, thus, won custody.

I think Paula was very depressed after Micheal died......he really was her great love, sorry for Bob, but I'm afraid that's how it was....I don't think she killed herself, she would never have left her kids I'm sure, she was a good mother and tiger lily was her only thing left from Micheal......I think she did heroin to help with her grief and just overdosed....it's all very tragic...lives ruined and children left motherless....very sad

No one can assess or depict Geldof in who he is, or what he has tried to do with any accuracy. The compassion and integrity of the man is quietly swept under the rug every time. I've been rediscovering this whole situation with Paula and MIchael, and I always thought he was doing auto-erotic stuff but after extensively researching, I now believe he was upset and overwhelmed in a state of intoxication and killed himself while not thinking clearly. He was under immense stress with Paula's extremely messy, messy life and about to embark on a tour he didn't want to do. He got super bad news from Paula in the early hours and was wasted and just snapped. That's my opinion and in a way, it was an accident but it wasn't auto-erotic. It's like drunk driving, he was drunk reacting.

Robin Williams was depressed because of his Parkinson's Disease and alcoholism. He had battled mental illness and addiction all his life. He was simply worn out and he knew things weren't getting better - they were going to get worse. I don't blame him for ending his life - I probably would have done the same if I had grown up children. Marriage? I think increasingly both genders are turning their backs on it. Statistically speaking as I recall, it was never good for women anyway.

One of the parents is going to see the children less - that's the awful truth of divorce. Divorce is a sad business. Given that women still comprise the primary care givers in society (in most, but not all cases), then women are disproportionately going to have custody of the children following family break ups. Though joint custody is increasingly common.
I have sympathy for Williams in terms of his illness. But it was unwise to keep having children and remarry. When you create a family you are then responsible for their upkeep. He had addiction issues which would have consistently created big problems wtihin his marriages. Lena Heady had to pay her husband alimony and a settlement after she divorced, as she was the main breadwinner. That's how it works. In showbiz cases women tend to stay at home and look after the kids - especially when one party (an actor) is likely to be away on location. She's the one likely to be left at home to maintain stability for the family. So its understood she doesn't have earning capacity. These sensationalist cases are not the norm anyway. Stop getting your knickers in a twist.

Do you realize how devastating it is to a man's life to not only break his heart but uproot him from his home that he's worked so hard for, to shatter his dreams of having a family? It's by far the number one reason men commit suicie *BY FAR* the number one reason and males are 4 out of 5 suicides!
It's simply unfair that women have so much control legally, over a man's life.

Great respect for Bob he is truly a great man to be so kind to raise Tiger Lilly the child of the man that took the mother of his children away Tiger could have lived with Michael's family however she truly does need to be around and grow up with her step sister's they share the same mother and they as a family needed each other's support to have gotten through losing both parent's , and then for Bob to lose Peaches as well , how much can one man take , stay strong you are an inspiration to me and other's. Considering the money he made from Band Aid and the lifestyle his children have benefitted from I wish he would just disappear from the media and continue living in affluence away from the public eye. People tend to pick on him for his grumpy disposition and style choices, but the root of the problem is that he put together the huge live aid project, but only donated 5% to starving children (which was the point of his cause) and the rest going toward overthrowing the ethiopian gov., along with a profit for himself.
I'm not one of the ones who hate him. I think he's funny and he did more for charity than most people. It's like people hate him for not doing good.
