Hey Chris, I know you like to set up your shoes to be slip-on, and I'm the same way. Not sure if you also have the problem, but I always used to fight my shoes untying thenselves until a friend showed me the Parisian knot. Look it up, it's just a simple addition to the standard shoe bow knot, and it is absolutely reliable and never unties itself. It's literally a "tie your shoes once every other year" kinda knot. Hope it helps you like it helped me! Thanks!
Battle Creek falls, nice! I go on that hike all the time with my wife and kids, great little hike. I live in American fork, it’s nice to have some local barefooters. Keep making great videos, guys 👍
Great looking shoe, I'm wondering if they begin to break down between the upper and sole if it can be easily fixed with shoe goo or resoled by a cobbler. I could see the volume in the toe box being an issue for people whose toes or nails grow at a certain angle that would cause discomfort or cause premature wear in socks. Thanks for showcasing these.
I like the height of them. Something about the design does feel more sneakerish, it honestly could just be the flat laces. Boots never have flat laces. So I’d be curious if swapping those would make them look more boot like
@@matthewlockhart3226 I wouldn't put them in the same category. The African Rangers are built tough, they're meant for hard use on job sites or rough trails. The Yeans are not, they're definitely more city shoes. The construction of the two is totally different, as is the on foot feel.
Is the ankle as loose as it looks? If the toe box feels tight, i need to go up, but not with a loose ankle. I made that mistake with the Jim Green ankle height shoe.
@@dannyturner7967 the website doesn't mention it at all, they also don't talk much about the construction method. From what I understand you can pretty much resole anything with the right cobbler, but the construction and therefore difficulty in resoling it will probably change what it costs
@@user-lg7gp6fg3g a company called Carets released one not too long ago, although the toe box looks a little pointy to us. Pretty sure you can custom order a pair from Jim Green, they just released a video all about their custom orders, you should go check it out. Also, we've got our eyes on an indie-gogo campaign called Flat Step that looks super promising!

Probably the most featured hike in our videos haha, it's so accessible with lots of payoff for just a short little hike!

Tintin shoes come to America...lol
Looks great!
Thanks Chris for your review of Jim Green African Ranger barefoot boots ..Very nice..

Actually boots do have flat laces. Redwings.
So how do these compare to the Jim Green AR barefoot? Or are they not in the same category...???

@@RagnarHoff I don’t find the ankle loose once I lace them up tight enough at the top. Same thing with the Jim green though 🤷🏻♂️
What barefoot shoe or a shoe with a wide toe box would you recommend for moving jobs ?
@@jonathanmelendez2828 what shoe typically works for you? After we know that we can suggest something similar, but "barefoot"
Hi, can you make review of Hobibear barefoot shoes?
We've reached out before but never heard back, it's definitely one we'll keep pursuing though! We're very interested in the budget options out there
Can they be re soled?

Ok, I’ll look at that. Thank you!
Come on man !! You have stolen the design from Jim Green African Ranger boot . You should at least thank them ..
@@hisham56hamilton50 dude, these and Jim Green are pretty much nothing alike.
@@hisham56hamilton50 this was out quite a while before the Ranger…. So… not quite haha
You have to be pretty ignorant to think these are the same design as the African Ranger, and to think these reviewers made the shoe.
