Kevin Franke explains his push for DCFS reform following statement to lawmakers

- The ex-husband of convicted child abuser Ruby Franke is calling on lawmakers to change how police and the Utah Division of Child and Family Services investigate cases of abuse. He says there are too many loopholes in the system that made it easy for Franke and co-defendant Jodi Hildebrandt to hide what was happening to his children.
Top officials with DCFS were called before lawmakers on the Child Welfare Legislative Oversight Panel and asked specifically about the Franke case. Some panel members say they've been waiting for answers for months, but DCFS wasn't able to provide specific details while the criminal trial was ongoing.

He's questionable - didn't see his kids for over a year, defended Ruby and Jodi until they were charged, was a participant or at least knew about Ruby's extreme punishments of their children.
Not defending it but Jodie did a hell of a job brain washing him. She convinced him that he was a parasite and made him and ruby separate all while telling ruby to pretty much torture the children. Again not defending him because at the end of the day he was able to define what was right and wrong and he did choose to look the other way which is horrifying

He's an adult, father, educated and he chose to agree to not have any contact with his children for at least a year. I don't believe he was brain washed. He was complicit and only started to whistle a different tune after R and J were arrested and convicted. In the police interview after his wife was arrested, he didn't appear to be outraged and devastated that his children were tortured. He still defended R and J.
Only when he got concerned about himself did he change his narrative. He didn't want to be charged.

Jonestown actually had some of their followers put guns to their heads saying either they go of their own choosing or theyll pull the trigger.The only person that was known to be nuts was of course the leaders of the cults which is understandable

All of the things that he said are true . What role did he play in protecting his own children ? An absentee parent who did not participate in the lives of his own children should not be allowed to come back and complain about the welfare of his children when he wasn't participating in the welfare of his children .

Whatever you think about Kevin Franke, it doesn’t undermine his demand that Jodi Hildebrandt should have her license to practice reviewed and perhaps removed.

Hey, he did not see his children for a year. Why didn't he take his wife to court and demand to see his children? From what people say, who watched "8 passengers," he was also abusive. He wants CPS to have more power. There are a lot of people who are really worried about CPS having too much power. CPS is run by private companies that are incentivized to find problems in families that don't exist. They are incentivized by the system to take children away from parents. Children are not always better off in foster care. Correction. Children are often not better off in foster care. In fact, they are more likely to be abused or even die.
Because of Jodi as she is a master manipulator and has told the husbands to have zero contact with their wives to so called fix the marriage. Im sure if he tried Jodi could have done more harm to him. They get scared into not contacting authorities. This case isn't about 8 passengers, but what Jodi did with Ruby. If investigators get footage from the channel and decide to investigate the abuse from both parents we will find out, until then the current case is about Jodi manipulating Ruby to abuse her own kids. Heck a husband who didn't see his kids for the same length of time came out other than ruby's husband to talk about what she does to the husbands as they go into group therapy. She has done the same tactics to other families and marriages but this one is more in the spotlight because it's Ruby from 8 passengers.

We need sworn officers of the law dealing these cases with real criminal courts & trials by jury.

Sorry but there was abuse to thise kids before jody gor involved. Ruby and kevin had for years already mentaly abusing those kids. Plus they financially abused them. Jody may have been the catalyst for the physical abuse of the two youngest but it was already an issue prior to jody.

He’s just as guilty and should be in prison too. He’s a vile coward who was complicit in withholding food from his children and tried to have his daughter arrested. He was present when his son had his bed taken away and was made to sleep on a beanbag in the lounge for seven months. He was there for so much of it.

The timing is very suspicious. The father is now giving news interviews. He is stating that there is truth that will clear his name, but he can't say anything yet. He said it will come out at some point. Did he sign an NDA with Lifetime? Did he sell the rights? The movie trailer casts him as an innocent victim of Jodi. He hasn't said anything about the movie, just the two oldest.

Im not defending him because he did see his children getting mistreated for a while before he left and did nothing, but i will say this i am happy someone else is throwing jodi under the bus. She is still saying she is innocent and has done nothing wrong while scapegoating everyone else.
