    Hey mate! Love your video. I bought 3 initially and gotten 2 extra which were hiding in the shells that came from the store. I had a trio spawn recently in a 26L but they had eaten the fries unfortunately. Moved 4 of them into a 62L tank, fingers crossed they will spawn again

      That's a nice score finding an extra 2 fish. They sometimes take a little bit of time for their instinct to kick in not to eat their fry. Then sometimes they'll go 2 weeks before they start chasing them away as they prepare to spawn again all the way up to a month sometimes.

    Hi Jason, I have 1 male and 2 females in a 20 gallon, but the male is very aggressive. He always attacks the females when the females want to enter the shells.
    What can I do so that they can get along?
    Thanks

    My 40gallon Shellie tank is done! I was thinking of either the occie golds or signatus, my multis are breeding like no tomarrow😅

      If you find signatus please let me know. I keep ornatipinnis, multifasciatus, similis and brevis

    Hello friend, greetings from Monterrey, can you tell me what kind of lamp you are using in your tanks?

    with sand shell dwellers do you vacuum the substrate?

      Only if they don't have fry. If they have fry it's just too difficult without sucking up some up!

    Hey Jason love ur videos on the occys. i recently had 2 pairs and a trio form from 11 that I purchased about 2 months ago and they all had fry. Now I have roughly 100 fry that are roughly 30 days, 20 days, 5 day, and 4 day out of shell old. How long does it take for them to reach selling size and have you been able to get ur fry to sexual maturity and bred them? If so how long did that process take?
    Thanks - JC

      That's awesome, well done on getting so much fry! I would say 6-8 months for a sellable size. Sexual maturity about a year old. Hope that helps

    Hi. will the breeding female eat another female's fly? should i put 2/3 female to breed them ?

    • @JasonsCichlids
      @JasonsCichlids  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope, once you have both females spawning, the fry all mix together

    Where do you get your sand from?

      I bought it from a pool filter shop. I show the sand in this video th-cam.com/video/6XmRoJi9BPI/w-d-xo.html around the 8 minute mark
