*I’d be really interested to know your thoughts on these ears!* I just bought an awesome pair of Aulani ears this way for $12, so I’m very excited to see what they’re like when they arrive!
A Scent Offering They’re all from different sellers. If you just search for say “candy corn ears” on eBay and sort by lowest price, you’ll see listing after listing from the same types of seller
Thank you for this! I've been eyeing several retired ears that you can't get in the parks anymore that are between $10-15 on ebay. Are you able to share which sellers you purchased from? I've looked at reviews and most have been good, but some have been mixed, on a lot of the sellers I'm viewing. I did actually message one asking about the authenticity. They said that the ears are real because they get them directly from the factory that makes them for Disney. So that particular sellers items never actually make it to the parks. Not sure how "above board" that is though!
The other difference I noticed on the Small World ears is that on the real ones, the fabric in the middle holding the bow together matches the fabric of the bow. The one here has a striped blue fabric in the middle. Other than that and the tag, they look really good! And as long as you’re happy with them, that’s all that matters. 😊
I wanted to share my personal experiences. So far I have received 4 pairs of ears through Chinese sellers on eBay for between $10 and $20 shipped, with the $20 pair being for the 2020 Epcot Flower and Garden Orange Bird ears, which I was happy to pay since those are no longer being produced, and are selling between $60-$85 on eBay when I last checked (I have two Orange Bird Dress Shop dresses, so I really wanted these !) I also purchased the Little Mermaid ears with the purple seashells, the Mexican Pan Dulce ears, and a pink and lavender ombré set that is supposed to be exclusive to Disney Shanghai Resort. These three went for $10- $12 each, shipped. I only very recently started getting back into purchasing ears(and dresses), and I don’t live near the parks or outlets, so these are prices that I am happy to pay, especially when I would have otherwise missed out on 3 out of 4 of these pairs since they’re already sold out/retired. The three cheaper pairs all came from the same seller and have all the authentic tags and quality and appear to be perfect. They even have Shanghai Disney Resort price tags on them. Shipping took about 2 weeks for the pairs I received so far. The Orange Bird ears also appear authentic, but might be considered irregular, as one of the little white orange blossoms is sewn in a way where it slightly obscures the embroidered part of the right ear that says “The Orange Bird” at the bottom. I could care less about this minor detail and love them. I have two more pairs coming for the limited edition The Main Attraction ears (Peter Pan and King Arthur Carousel -$14 each). Again, these are sold out and going for far more on eBay through American sellers. Yes, there’s no guarantee of authenticity here, but there’s also no guarantee that they aren’t authentic. I’m totally fine with factory seconds and irregulars because I’m buying them to wear and enjoy. They wont stay perfect forever anyway. I appreciate being able to find some of the harder to find styles at well below regular retail. My recommendation would be to choose sellers with large amounts of feedback and a positivity rate of 98% or better, even if these sellers don’t have the absolute cheapest prices (I’m certainly willing to pay an extra $1-$2 through a seller with strong positive feedback). So far this has worked just fine for me. Also, be sure to look at the pictures in the listings, as I made sure to avoid items featuring that weird SEGA tag.
Those peppermint ears and Small World ears are awesome. Now there are 2 more pairs of ears I need :P I love that you take the time to do the research on this stuff. I appreciate how informative and methodical your videos are!!!
I've bought a few pairs on ebay before - mostly because Disneyland Paris has so few fun ears in their collection. Just bought the Little Mermaid anniversary pair on ebay for $12!
Just when I thought I couldn’t find ears cheaper than the ones in this video I spot Disney Junior branded “Minnie’s Fab-Bow-lous Headbands” for $4 each at a local Dollar Store! That’s $4 Canadian, too!! The quality is just as good as Parks ears, and they even have a pair that’s a twin to the new blue and white Vintage ears! The only differences are that the tag is “Disney; Minnie” branded and there is a yellow jewel in the flower instead of being all fabric. They are proper Disney licensed and everything!! If anyone is in Canada check your local Dollarama!!
Ears are very easy to make as well. I have about 2 dozen so far for my trip to Disney next Halloween. I have made them for Halloween and fall as ones for different restaurants, characters, and even rides (haunted mansion). I'm buying up gold fabric now for our return trip for the 50th anniversary. I will still have to check out Ebay though.
I ordered the candy cane ears a few weeks ago--awaiting their arrival! I have been picking up ears on ebay over the last few months but mostly from US sellers. This is the first China pair I have ordered, but will be ordering more if these turn out well! Thanks for the video!
Pixie Dust Mom Hi! I just ordered a pair of ears from eBay which came from a US seller, I was wondering how you check for the authenticity of the ears? It’s my first time buying ears from eBay and wanting some insight.
@@heydergurl13 Hi! I matched them up to ones I had from the parks. The ones I bought did come with a parks price tag on them and the Disney parks sewn in tag. It did take around 3 weeks to receive them but for the price and free shipping, I think they are worth it if you are trying to build up a collection.
Wow I was literally just looking at those ear listings wondering about quality! I don’t live near the parks, any outlets or Disney stores so I only have a couple second hand/vintage pairs in my collection. I’m totally gonna order a couple now!
This was a great video! Although we know there are fakes out there, as someone who works in production directly with factories in China (Not relates to Disney), I can confidently say many of them probably are from the factories that Disney uses and are either leftovers from shipments that didn’t get boxed up into cartons and shipped out (various reasons why this can happen) or left over pre-production samples that don’t get included in the final production unit count of the order. Disney probably has big margin expectations and I wouldn’t be surprised if they pay anywhere between $3-$5 factory cost per pair of ears.
I'm quite a bit late on this one but I have the peppermint swirl ears, I bought them in the park at the Christmas party. Every detail seems to match my park purchased ones exactly even the FAC number matches. I love all of my ears but seeing as I am Canadian getting ears is quite costly, if I pick up in park it works out to approximately $43 Canadian and if I have to get them shipped that number goes up to roughly $60 Canadian per pair. I was wondering about those ebay ears but now I might check into some of them to add to my collection
Dang, I just broke down and bought the candy cane ears. I know they will eventually be in the outlets, but I kind of wanted them for this year. And I did get 25% off so at least it wasn't $30. Thanks for this. Will look for other ears there.
I just happened to find your page. We just left Orlando last week. There were plenty of ears in big containers at both outlets for $8. Small world, black ears with dots pink bow, and aqua with pink bow. I did not get the small world and wanted the rainbow ears so I paid full price for those. When I came home I found the Arundel aqua years on ebay For $10.
I was totally browsing the ears on EBay and I think some of the Aulani from China my be counterfeit because they don’t have the hidden Mickey on the plumeria flowers ( based on the picture) but they look cool. Debating on getting some myself.
I ended up ordering some $10 Christmas peppermint ears. They are authentic I think. The only thing is it looks like the bow is very slightly off center. I’m thinking the “irregular” Disney ears go to eBay to sell outside of the stores. It’s a small irregularity, but couldn’t be sold for $30 in the parks. I’ll still wear them!!! 😍🎄
I ordered the Halloween orange ears with a black and orange bow from China and the tag is on the front of the headband instead of the back. So I’m guessing those are counterfeit right😂 I think ordering from China is definitely hit or miss but I can’t complain about the price!
i have a few pair including the candy cane ones and i was surprised too but they look and feel the same i think they may come from same factory as the parks but china can buy them too just my thought !
Did you find that the Small World Fun Fan Amuse headband was more comfortable behind the ears than the authentic Disney Parks ears that hurt behind the ears?
Why did you have to make this video. Every time I watch it the more ears I keep buying. I bought 5 different ears in the past week. But I love your channel.
Did you have to pay customs on any of your ears? Was there a certain way that you had to pay for your ears as well? I have come across several sellers that mention that they will only except PayPal and that if the package needs customs that the buyer would be responsible. Just wondering 😊
For 10$ usely no costoms to any country and the buyer is always responsible for the that:) but you should be fine if you buy like 1 or 2 they usely write like 2$ on the package and as a gift
They’re all from different sellers. Just search for a type of ear on EBay and sort by lowest price, you’ll find tons of listing options (I always went for cheapest price I can find)
I think I should go back to the character warehouse.😄 I don't trust much the internet, with facebook having a lot of scams especially. Honestly, even the Loungefly and spirit jerseys is insane. I only one time bought the concha ears for it's regular price, never again.😓 It's actually $32 with the tax.😳
Hi Emily, I found your channel yesterday because I was learning about pin trading. After watching this video I got a bit research crazy because I wanted to get to the bottom of this mystery. I think the small world ears are definitely fake. Because you bought from 4 different sellers, I'd imagine some might be real but for sure the small world ears are fake. I think any ears with that Fun Fan Amuse tag is fake. Fun Fan Amuse is a legit company but I don't think they make ears. If you're unaware, SEGA, most notably recognized in the US for Sonic and their gaming properties, is huge in Japan with their dedicated arcades and prize redemption games. They do manufacture Disney and other branded products for use in their prize collection arcade games, but they're usually figurines or plushies as far as I can tell. As for the tag itself, the tag text color is usually flipped with white disney and blue fun fan amuse. I don't read Japanese but on the back side, at the very top, the Japanese translates to Chip and Dale and something about flowers, so I'm assuming the tag was taken or copied from a chip and dale plushie. At the bottom it also says made in china 2014. Not sure when these ears were originally available since I'm not familiar with Disney merch but if it's any time recently, you can tell that tag definitely doesnt belong on that item even without translating the Japanese. With that said, real or fake, personally I don't see a problem in buying these for your own enjoyment. It's a very different scenario than buying fake pins because those end up in circulation and end up disappointing and hurting ill informed people in the end where as fake ears that you wear is for your own enjoyment. If you're buying and trading ears, then it gets into sketchy territory. If the quality is that close to authentic, with the same materials being used and the stitching being good enough, does it really matter if it's authentic as long as you're not trying to trick anyone else? I will say that if your justification to it being okay is because Disney can make a profit on $5 ears at the outlet store, I'd say that you can't necessarily assume that they're making a profit on that sale. Sometimes things get sold at a loss to make space for new inventory or to recoup as much as they can from a product they were going to dispose because it's just too old or unpopular. With that said though, if you're concerned about the ethics of Disney not getting any revenue from this purchase, I'd say it's the equivalent to fantasy pins which Disney also receives no revenue from but so many people seem to be okay with buying those. So you can consider these ears fantasy ears.
Hm do you think it’s possible that these are ears being sold separately from the same Chinese factory that Disney uses? Because they look EXACTLY identical. I have the real candy corn ears, and I’m looking at yours and mine right now, and I’m telling you; There’s no difference at all!
trying to make a list of things that show if the ears are fake for when mine come - mispelled "authemtic" tag - uncentered tag - disney fun-amused prize tag
