We messed up

In this video, we installed a new condensing unit, evaporator, and lineset for a walk-in cooler. I handled the inside section while a colleague managed the rooftop condensing unit.
After we finished, he mentioned he hadn’t set the time clock. I reminded him that it needed to be tied into an outdoor solenoid or break power to the contactor coil, but it was only wired for power. He set it for two 30-minute defrost cycles, which should have been fine for a cooler.
However, the unit froze up again. The first thing I did was check the condensing unit, and I found that the time clock wasn’t breaking anything. It was an easy fix and a good teaching moment for my techs.
Be on the lookout for condensing units with time clocks. If it says "field installed," ensure anything tied into them is set up correctly.
