I’m looking to get into hauling farm equipment and some construction equipment. The most I’m looking to do is 120k gross. My question to you is with my truck has 13.2 front axle and 40k rears I’m looking to keep that same axle size but go to a 300” wheelbase with a new frame should I go double frame or just thicker single frame?
most people would say that you need double frame only when you have a heavy front axle - 18k to 20K. I had a 14.6K front axle on my four axle Mack, and it was too weak for my application (55 ton RGN, total of 8 axles). The front axle was often overloaded. If I were you, I'd spend more money on upgrading the front axle than the frame.
Where is the guide you're reading through? I'm building my flatbed business but I want to consume as much info as possible as I start to expand into heavy.
Thanks for the valuable information

Have you posted any videos this week about your new job
The week of November 6 through November 11
cannot post videos about my work at the construction site.
How do you decide how much pressure to put in the pusher axle?
i installed a valve that equalizes pressure between the truck's last 3 axles. problem solved.
