Recorded live 2001, Concordia College, Moorhead, MN during a David Maslanka residency. David was in the audience and worked on this Concerto and "Hell's Gate" with the student ensembles. Performing any of David's music is like running a marathon. The amount of physical and emotional energy required is staggering. But this piece is the most demanding I've ever experienced. After 40 minutes of intense playing you are just drained and uplifted. Anyone that knew David knows that working on his music and spending time with him was life changing.
