Thank you Chris! All your hints worked for me, I’m able to get my desired band score in my Academic test by just following your videos. I was glued to all of them😁; got my result and had R8,L8,W6.5, S8.
At the start of 2 weeks I was scoring only 6.5-7.5 range in all sections, where I would occasionally score higher in writing and speaking and lower in reading and listening. With only a few changes of strategies of your videos within 2 weeks, I scored 8.5 in listening and 7.5 in all other sections making my overall band score of 8 in my official IELTS exam. There were things I wasn't noticing, and once I started noticing my patterns and changed them consciously, it was a breeze to start scoring higher in a few days. So I went from an average of 7 band to an average of 8 band overall score. Thank you so much! I know this is not the ideal way to practice, but I saw one of your reading videos one day before my IELTS, and because now I knew the meaning of the questions and the strategy, I truly believe my scores in reading improved quite a bit. @@sardortoshboltayev7172 Honestly mine is a case where I have a lot of experience with English in general, my work demands speaking with International team members and while I speak in Hindi and English, I love books and thus I think in English and usually can have debates with random people in English. I had a high vocabulary starting out when I was young due to the high volume and diverse books I read. So it was all about catching onto some very basic principal mistakes I was making and trying to keep a cool head. I don't think my study can be replicated, but I do believe IELTS advantage can help you bring out your natural strengths to a large degree. Their videos and understanding key things and practicing the areas I lack were the reason for my success.
I secured an overall 8 band in ielts just recently…. A perfect 9 in listening and 8.5 in reading. One thing i will say for surely is that this channel is by far the best channel i have come across while preparing. @noorfatimah6706 The test is to measure your ability to hold conversations. Your examiner is not your friend so obviously you have to be a little bit formal, but not too formal. For example, dont say things like "The populace ceased all movement to witness the splendid environment 🤓". Sure you are smart and all, but that is really no way to hold a conversation, you know what I mean? When you try to think of morr advanced vocabulary, you will have a lot of "uhhhhh/ummmmm" and you may even pause while speaking to try and fix your sentence. Only use vocabulary that you use often and know 100%. The point is to express that you can hold conversations and keep the person on the other end interested. Example (directly from my own speaking test): What do you think of geography? Geography is not my area of expertise, I am more into technology. I just don't find it interesting enough.

@@diishakr It was fair, but still challenging. Just continue doing practice tests monitor your progress. Practice makes perfect. Be very natural in the speaking test and don't try to sound like a robot. Confidence is also key in the speaking test. The other written tests needs your speed, accuracy and comprehension. At least that is what I think their majorly testing in candidates. Good luck !

Since watching Chris' videos, I've witnessed such improvements in my reading skills I'm not lying. I used to have only a band 6.0 or 6.5 in my reading test but now that number is going up to a band 7.5 or even 8.5 if I am more meticulous!!! I'm currently 15 years old and I would like to take my test 2 years later. Although that is still a long time to prepare, I think I should have a step forward right at the early beginning to do my best in the further real exam for IELTS🥰

To be honest, it's best to take the test at grade 11th as most of the pieces of information necessary for the application for the entry university test will be required then

Hi Chris Am writing to u with a heavy heart I wrote ielts general on 17th February 2024 for the first time I had 5.5 and my problem is not having enough to for reading and not understanding the questions, my speaking was 7.0 writing 5.5 reading 4.0 listening 5.0 it was a huge disappointment to me my expected score is 8.0 please I need your help because am going to rewrite the IELTS again on the April.

I'm here to thank you for this wonderful & detailed video ❤ I was afraid of IELTS as naturally we're scared of all tests but I thought this was going to be way harder... I was wrong. I had only a week to prepare and got a band 7 overall. All thanks to your teaching! I just watched a few other videos, took practice tests on british council & IDP websites, and gave it a shot! Also, the result came out the next day (super fast!). I gave a computer-based exam on 17 August, 24. Plus I was sure my speaking didn't go well but guess what, my score's the highest in it! I think there's lenient marking. I gave it through British Council. Listening 7.5 Reading 6.5 Writing 6 Speaking 7 I must say listening was the easiest for me. One advice I'll give is to stick to paper-based if your typing's slow. I decided on computer one as I wanted the results early. Although my typing's way to slow, I managed somehow 😂

Hi Chris, need to clarify a point - In your video, the example of the question shown at 26:05 asks a student to mention the letter A-H next to the questions. But your narration mentions that the student has to add the 'option ' to complete the table. Your advice too mentions that one should transfer 'words' and 'check spellings.' This may not be relevant if the instructions ask you to only mention the letter. Since it is not matching the question instructions, please clarify whether your advice is incorrect or for a different type of instruction. Thank you.

I'm confused about this, are we supposed to talk casually or do we need to be completely formal and straight forward with our answers?
@noorfatimah6706 The test is to measure your ability to hold conversations. Your examiner is not your friend so obviously you have to be a little bit formal, but not too formal. For example, dont say things like "The populace ceased all movement to witness the splendid environment 🤓". Sure you are smart and all, but that is really no way to hold a conversation, you know what I mean? When you try to think of morr advanced vocabulary, you will have a lot of "uhhhhh/ummmmm" and you may even pause while speaking to try and fix your sentence. Only use vocabulary that you use often and know 100%. The point is to express that you can hold conversations and keep the person on the other end interested.
Example (directly from my own speaking test):
What do you think of geography?
Geography is not my area of expertise, I am more into technology. I just don't find it interesting enough.

@@diishakr It was fair, but still challenging. Just continue doing practice tests monitor your progress. Practice makes perfect. Be very natural in the speaking test and don't try to sound like a robot. Confidence is also key in the speaking test. The other written tests needs your speed, accuracy and comprehension. At least that is what I think their majorly testing in candidates. Good luck !

Since watching Chris' videos, I've witnessed such improvements in my reading skills I'm not lying. I used to have only a band 6.0 or 6.5 in my reading test but now that number is going up to a band 7.5 or even 8.5 if I am more meticulous!!! I'm currently 15 years old and I would like to take my test 2 years later. Although that is still a long time to prepare, I think I should have a step forward right at the early beginning to do my best in the further real exam for IELTS🥰

Am writing to u with a heavy heart I wrote ielts general on 17th February 2024 for the first time I had 5.5 and my problem is not having enough to for reading and not understanding the questions, my speaking was 7.0 writing 5.5 reading 4.0 listening 5.0 it was a huge disappointment to me my expected score is 8.0 please I need your help because am going to rewrite the IELTS again on the April.

I'm here to thank you for this wonderful & detailed video ❤ I was afraid of IELTS as naturally we're scared of all tests but I thought this was going to be way harder... I was wrong. I had only a week to prepare and got a band 7 overall. All thanks to your teaching! I just watched a few other videos, took practice tests on british council & IDP websites, and gave it a shot!
Also, the result came out the next day (super fast!). I gave a computer-based exam on 17 August, 24. Plus I was sure my speaking didn't go well but guess what, my score's the highest in it! I think there's lenient marking. I gave it through British Council.
Listening 7.5
Reading 6.5
Writing 6
Speaking 7
I must say listening was the easiest for me. One advice I'll give is to stick to paper-based if your typing's slow. I decided on computer one as I wanted the results early. Although my typing's way to slow, I managed somehow 😂

Hi Chris, need to clarify a point - In your video, the example of the question shown at 26:05 asks a student to mention the letter A-H next to the questions. But your narration mentions that the student has to add the 'option ' to complete the table. Your advice too mentions that one should transfer 'words' and 'check spellings.' This may not be relevant if the instructions ask you to only mention the letter. Since it is not matching the question instructions, please clarify whether your advice is incorrect or for a different type of instruction. Thank you.
