From my experience making 35.000 to 40,000 is very doable and doable part time. From there though I think it gets exponentially harder to hit the next level. That requires a lot more time invested. I think realistically for most people aiming for that 40,000 a year range part time is a great boost to your income while avoiding burnout.
Thrift stores in England has become hard work to find valuable items, they price on eBay prices not sales, some volunteers cream off the good stuff to resell themselves, but then who wouldn’t
Local Goodwills and St. Vinnie's are decent 6/10 but the Mom and Pop stores near me are 9/10. They don't get nearly as much new inventory but they are always price really well!
Hi Jake, yes, I believe that you can make a full-time income from thrifting and you are the man that showed us that pretty much anything can be done when you set your mind to it. can’t give you an opinion on my thrift stores yet I’m still in my closet pulling out some real good items as you know unfortunately still starting out going at a turtles pace right now with my health conditions but I’ll be rocking it maniac style again in no time. had a couple huge sales in the beginning to keep me in the game and now I’m working on building my draft bank to get something in every day per my friend and mentor JRides
(Replay watcher) Question: In a previous video, you mentioned lowering prices for items that don't sell on eBay after a certain period. When you adjust prices, do you manually revise the listing, or do you use eBay's sale event feature in the Discounts Manager? If so, could you share your process for reducing prices on unsold items?
The way CommonWealth Picker goes to garage sales/thrifts/estates etc with chest cam is pretty awesome w/sales at the end. You do your shtick but it's fun & educational
Here in the UK thrifting is hard, we have small thrift shops where staff take the time to look up EBay prices. Now and then you might find something they missed.
Not all goodwills created equally. You would never find a north face in our many regional Goodwills. If you do, it would be in 15-20 dollar range. Nor would you find an actual plastic bag either for sustainability or profit boosting purposes… Nevertheless, they’re definitely shipping our best items to the online warehouse and leaving smaller margins to be made.
having been here for awhile, did you get a new car? Last year I witched from a small car to a minivan to make bigger deliveries easier. Lost some mpg but overall happy with the change. I do alot of walmart spark orders and have room for wagons, handcarts etc.
Hey Jake, I'm in Central Texas, our yard sales are way better than our thrift stores. The problem is that Yard sales are so seasonal. I've been toying with ebay lots, I know high-end sunglasses and remotes do well however it's difficult to know what lots are good to bid on. A rule of thumb I use is if they have more than 10 bids I go for it. any other pointers and items you may suggest to look for in lots?
My mom and grandma left me some vintage and antique items when they died...I am selling them on Mercari, for about 90 days now, WHY should I have to pay taxes on my things? I own them already, and I do not thrift at all???
Thrift stores in my area are a hit or miss, 2 goodwills and 2 local stores, goodwills pricing is a bit high but not too bad im at least doubling from them, 1 local is a small shop not much but what they got is good product at cheap prices. The other local is the largest thrift store, However I dispise going to that one, the owner marks all his stuff about 60-70% of ebay prices and all his employees are rude, when I do go their Im looking for items that are not priced then it becomes an offer game with the owner. Sometimes I get a good deal most of the time I walk out with nothing because of how high and stubborn he is with his pricing. Regardless, I know Im probably missing a lot being a new reseller, Thou what I have noticed is that my town has a lot of resellers. I see them everywhere now that Im doing the same thing. See them at garage sales as well, so much so I can spot their cars from a mile away. Overall I feel like my town might be oversaturated with resellers, been looking into expanding my range to get more/better product while still hitting the ones here
I had 180 $ return on a Christian Dior women vintage suit about a yr ago I cost me to refund As I don’t sell at all like you And I’m trying Applying all your advice Still sells are low
I have a church thrift store, it's bad like a 2-3 on 1-10. And 3 goodwills within 20 minutes rating from 2-4. It's a shame cause 2 of the 3 goodwills are in wealthy areas.😢
I've sold a few items here and there on eBay, but I'm just starting to wake up to this whole "industry." One question that I have is related to item storage. Like, don't you run out of space quickly picking up several items every day? I really have no idea, it just seems that you would. Thanks!
Thanks for the quick response. Just saving that I really appreciate your videos, your honesty, and your feedback. I just started this past month, took your advice on starting with stuff in the house. I really enjoy it. For me it’s supplemental income and I really enjoy the hunt. Keep the videos coming, and THANK YOU!

Yes I like it when you show what you got and tell if it is good and what it might be worth.
I feel bad for the people struggling with their eBay stores right now. Jake has tons of great resources on his channel to help y’all. Good luck!

And the right size…. Sometimes it comes down to the right color for clothes

lol 45 min outside of dc could be 10 miles depending on the traffic
I don't think I know I've been doing it past 10 months 👍
Those jerseys would have been priced at $25 minimum in my GW stores. 😢
Hey Jake, why don’t I see handling cost after I charge customer? Or is it hidden?

Quick question, how long do you keep pics of sold items? Do you delete after posting or keep for 30 day return period, then delete?
I don’t save them. They’re deleted immediately

11.11 I have no idea what it means though. I just started 3 months ago and have only done a few promotions starting this month.
My ROAS is 25.02
What is fba or fbm
SWAYMAN will not sell for 75 bucks
My thrift stores suck
Why do you move so much?
ROAS-22.04
Not from Goodwill. They suck and prices are outrageous.
Nothing at the goodwill is as inexpensive as your items.
I go to goodwill daily
