Great Video thanks for taking the time to share. I have the parts in garage and ready to install the exact same set up. I also plan to mount fender close to tire. Nice look.
+Moto one Youre welcome, I used a coping saw with a fine toothed blade. it was easy to keep on line and cut right through the plastic. I will say that after having the fender in the low position for a while I ended up moving it to the stock position. It looks good there as well.
it was really easy, I think the only thing I would have done differently is purchased longer mounting bolts the ones I purchased were 40mm id probably go with 45 or 50mm. Also, a coping saw with a fine toothed blade is perfect for cutting the plastic of the fender. you can make really precise cuts. Let me know if I can help.
Looks great! Were you able to re-seat the bottoms of the rubber fork boots, or are they just kind of sitting there because the fork brace is in the way? Cheers and thanks.
+plow102 Im sorry it took so long to reply, I didn't see your comment. The fork boots seat onto the fork brace. They don't move at all. The top part of the EM fork brace is just like the stock portion of where the boots seated. It was designed really well. I can say after having the brace for this long it truly makes a difference. Thanks FOR watching.
No, I've actually put mine back in the stock position. The only reason for the cut outs was to fit snugly over the eaglemike fork brace. I would however put the new fender inside the stock and use the holes as a pattern for the new fender...cant mess it up. Ride safe!
luv it man , looks awesome!, Im going to do this mod but I want a different fender, looking for an old skool enduro style fender with no variations, just a smooth close to tire look like on the big KTM's
ConditionRed no spacers at all, the stock bolts from the stock fender fit in the Eagle Mike fork brace. I ended up moving the fender back up to the original location. For the lower mount on the brace you will need longer bolts which I got a Lowe’s. Take the original ones with you to ensure you get the correct thread size. The length for the lower mount bolts was 40mm.
I moved it back up because I liked the look better. The way I cut the fender allowed it to sit directly on the fork brace so no spacers were needed. I would bet that if you didn't want to cut the fender as much spacers would work. I'd try both rubber and metal spacers just to see how they preform.
@@olneymaryland77 I ended moving it back to the stock location, decided I like the look of it better there. You wont get any shake at all its so much better than the kite the stock fender was. Let me know how you like it. Thanks for watching!
@@RedNeckBiker109 Oh yeah 100% better at highway speeds. Had a big truck in front of me making a bunch of dirty air and I could feel a huge difference. I agree, it kinda looks like the KLR is missing something with is mounted low, but now I'm not sailing down the highway!
@@olneymaryland77 Good deal! Im glad it worked. If you dont know about the KLR Delesiounal page of facebook go take a look and post some pics of your install.
I have not, I will say that I have not ridden is super heavy muddy conditions either. I would presume however that any low fender mount might struggle in those type of conditions. Also, I ended up moving the fender back to the stock location just because I like the look better.
I think you'll be happy with your choice. I know I am. It can be particularly windy where I am and that stock fender just acts as a sale. I love the fork brace also it just adds to the stability. I'm not sure what your suspension considerations are but I plan on upgrading to the full cogent system very shortly. Ive heard nothing but great reviews.
Sounds like your talking through the drive-thru speaker at Mc Donalds! HA! Good Video
Its not quite thaaaat bad lol. I think I had it too close to my big fat mouth lol. I think I have it fixed now. Thanks for watching

Awesome - I think this'll be my next mod. You make it look easy!

Thanks for the video! A question for you, do I need to modify the fender if a want to put it on the same position of the stock one ?

What size spacers and bolts did you use? Good job

RedNeck Biker109 o ok, don't you get more support with spacers remote the bumper? Also why did you move the fender back up?
I moved it back up because I liked the look better. The way I cut the fender allowed it to sit directly on the fork brace so no spacers were needed. I would bet that if you didn't want to cut the fender as much spacers would work. I'd try both rubber and metal spacers just to see how they preform.
Has the mod helped it significantly at highway speeds?
Hell yes! You don't feel as though the front end is going to take off. If you put it in the lower location its as if you don't have a fender at all.
@@RedNeckBiker109 Awesome. Just did this to mine and cant wait to take it on the freeway to see. Just was a little shaky at 75mph!

Have you had any problems with mud or build-up with the low fender?

Thanks. Did the job last night. I too ended up putting an Acerbis in the stock position.
