- I have already used this song in a previous Kathryn video but I wasn't happy with it and I always think of her when I hear it. So here's the Kathryn Howard tribute. One to go!
Music: Lana Del Rey - Summertime Sadness.
Clips used:
The Tudors - Tamzin Merchant
Henry VIII - Emily Blunt
The Six Wives of Henry VIII - Angela Pleasence
Henry VIII & His Six Wives - Lynne Frederick
For Fun, NOT Profit!
Enjoy!!!
This is the perfect song for Katherine Howard. Sweet summer child...I think she just wanted to be loved and was way in over her head by being forced by her family to marry Henry VIII, who was by then a crazy, obese, diseased ogre old enough to be her grandfather 😳!
Fun fact , the actor who played in the Tudors on showtime as Cathrine is apparently the most accurate to the actual Cathrine’s appearance
It’s a bit hard to know that, as we have no authentic portrait of Catherine.
@@tudortalks I think Lynne Frederick captured what Catherine was most probably like as a person. She captures the sweetness of who I think Catherine was.
@@brontewcat yeah Lynne looked the most accurate since Catherine was just a teenager when she arrived a court, and Catherine was known to have brown or aburn red hair.
Yeah, I remember reading that the French ambassador at the time referred to her as a "very little girl". Whether he meant her size or age is unclear but it was possible he meant both
I Need specifics, the guy had three wives named Catherine which one are we talking about?
I'd never heard this song before I saw this video, and now I can't think of it in any other context other than Katherine Howard. This video is perfect.
Also, I just have to say that 2:44 - 2:51 is a brilliant bit of facial acting from Lynne Fredrick. Without hearing any dialogue, you can SEE her thought process from shock to confusion to realization to resignation in the space of only a few seconds. Awesome.
I love this video! I love Catherine Howard! She doesn't deserve a bad reputation. Of course she was foolish and first of all she shouldn't have been queen, but who can blame a child grown up with minimal supervision and education for her actions. She was too naive. She chased the dreams of others. Henry's biggest mistake was divorcing Anne of Cleves and marrying a young girl
Have you seen a BBC doc by Lucy Worsly about the six wives? The only one I've seen that discusses KH as a victim whole heartedly
@@xxLornyTunesxx I watched it and I loved it because it was interesting and accurate. And she discussed that Catherine doesn't deserve to be blamed and to be known as ''the queen who slept around'', because she was just an abused child. Which was true. Henry Manox took advantage of her, a 13 years old child, then Dereham, then married to an ill man who was old enough to be her father and in the end got beheaded. When Thomas Cranmer interrogated her it was very heartbreaking, because she felt guilty and ashamed of herself, she wanted it to stop and plead for her life.
I don't like her portrayal in Tudors, her character is too sexualized and portrayed as a liar and materialistic. Still I was sad when Culpepper wanted her just because of her body and shetruly loved him.
Out of all the Katharine Howard portrayals, Tamzin Merchant's was the performance that stood out
I prefer Emily Blunt and Lynne but ti each his own.
@@alondraperez-ramirez8363 I think Emily looked too mature for her character but they were also good
for me,It's Lynne Frederick
Tamzin looked the most stupid one if it is that what you mean. ;
Tazmin actually looked young enough
This Video Is Just Perfect! I heard it the first time about 5 years ago and time and time again I come Back to watch it again! ❤❤❤ Just Love It! It was also how came to know Lana Del Rey, Who came to be one of my favorite Current Musical Artists
Henry and Jane caused Anne Boleyn to be stressed because they was kissing while she was on henry's lap.
I cant suggest a song but her story is actually kind of tragic. Henry was having his midlife crisis. The duke of Norfolk after the disaster of his niece Anne Boleyn fell out of favor as the Seymour's rose. Also with Anne of Cleves selection "protestant reforms" gained momentum. With her fall, the duke of Norfolk saw an opportunity to be on top again and protect the old faith at the same time by proposing the red sports car that Jane represented. Of course she had to be naïve and not very educated so that she could easily manipulate her. In the end her crime was falling in love with Culpeper and accepting the advice of one of the people that brought about the downfall of her cousin Anne, Lady Rochford (George Boleyn's "widow").
this is stunning
I;m currently readin book about her called The Confession of Katherine Howard.
I love stuff like that.. Especially since the White Queen came out..
I fancied reading that, is it any good?
yeah its' good
I read The White Princess as well. But, I didn't care for it.
But of u like those types of book read Alisom Weir's new bio Elizabeth of York
Love this music, love the video and love The Tudors 💙
It's amazing! 😍 Thank you so much 😍
This is amazing :)
Granted by the time Anne Boleyn died the British world had changed for ever. But we seem to forget that this gal (and she was young and immature granted) was also beheaded. Rather sad.
Katherine Howard and Anne Boleyn were first cousins.
They were the beheaded wives. Quite an oddity.
Such a tragic story hers was
Angela Pleasence is my favourite Catherine Howard.
this is so good !!! Going to watch it again :) xx
I still love this
Poor Catherine but justise was made! Henry with his ssyphilis leg now know how it was to be cheated bij some one. He had a lot of un happy wifes and a lot of mistrises. But fortunaly his third
lady in waiting in showed him the pain he send tot his wifes
amazing video!
Amazing video! I was hoping you would use Rihanna's "Unfaithful" but after I saw this video, the song was perfect :)
Perfect
She was just a child. So sad. No time period to be a woman!
I loved Angela Pleasence, she was a great Katherine Howard!
Anna Merritt
Are you sure?
I perfer Lynne Frederick she looked the part and was likeable in the movie and made you feel bad for her, Angela played Katherine as a schemer who is rude to anyone she deems are less important to her which is not a good protrayal of catherine in my opinion
In the book "Young, Damned, and Fair" by Gareth Russell, Catherine is actually kinda bossy. Not that it's a bad thing but she did throw hissy fits and Angela and Tamzin kinda captured that "rudeness " that Catherine apparently displayed sometimes. @strawberry12393
All our lives are ruined by the men in them especially husbands
@@lisapain224 that's a bit harsh. Not all men behave like Henry VIII.
That Anne Boleyn miscarried their son.
She is not my favorite queen but i liked the vídeo

Anne Boleyn had betrayed Katherine of Aragon she was probably the only wife that deserved her fate on the block.
Anna Merritt
No she didnt
None of them deserved what happened to them it was Henry who deserved the fate those women got
I agree that anne shouldn't have died like that, but she was no saint either 1. She lied that she was a virgin, 2. She was in it for power in the beginning and end 3. She had an affair with the poet after getting married
@@jordanamoon5215 1. We cannot be sure if Anne was a virgin when she married Henry VIII. It most likely that she was due to her education, religious beliefs, and not wanting to end up like her sister Mary.
2. It was Henry who wanted Anne. He was the one who chased her. Anne had to flee from him back to her home because she didn't want to be his lover. At last he did conquer her and we all know how that went.
3. Thomas Wyatt, the poet, was a childhood friend of Anne Boleyn. There is no evidence they were anything more than friends.
She did not deserve to die. No one deserves to die when they have done nothing to deserve it. Anne was innocent of all the charves created against her. Those trumped up charges were created in order from him to get rid of her because she was unable to give him the son he so desired. Henry's foolish obsession was the downfall of all these tragic queens. Yet, the beloved son he so craved died young while his daughter, Elizabeth ruled England for 4 decades.
