I worked for security at a nuclear plant. Ammunition was considered contraband but not as serious an offense as a handgun. The best advice is that if you have a backpack, duffel bag, or whatever that you use to take a firearm to a range for practice or hunting, use that bag exclusively for that purpose. Get a different bag for everything else.

Also, here in Quebec the legal drinking age is 18 but when I took my children on a cruise with us they respected the fact that the legal drinking age onboard ship was 21. No waiver, no question. Over decades of working in the operations center I never heard of or saw a security report come in at our location or any other (I worked at a regional hub responsible for over 10 locations) about a worker being targeted because their badge was displayed.
What I have seen is that workers transiting from work/home have been targeted and had their backpack/purse/bag stolen. Whether it be on their person or left in their vehicle. It's why when we are in any sketchy area the only thing my GF carries is her phone in her pocket.

Well he had several SPENT shells in his backpack. He tossed them in the trash can in his room. When we got back on board, security was waiting for him. Took him to the cabin, he agreed to have them fully search the cabin. He explained that he had taken his backpack to the range before going on vacation. We had flown to the ship and nothing said. We took our gun inside its lockbox, our headphones for sound blocking, eye protection, and ammunition and transported it in a bag that my husband also uses for travel. Some of the ammunition fell out of the box into the bag because after we opened it the first time, the lid kept popping open because it was thin cardboard. I worked as a bartender for a caterer for a number of years. It never failed to amaze me the number of adults that gave underage relatives drinks at "special" events.
There was NEVER one time that it led to SMART decisions by an underage drinker. At one reception, the brother of the bride got into a fight with some other guests and left the reception. He was picked up by the local police arguing with patrons at a nearby bar. On his return for identification, the mother of the bride was arrested as she assaulted two officers because she demanded the officers release her son.
So here was this beautiful bride with her mother and brother going to jail before she cut her wedding cake. All because a relative thought it was a great idea to give a minor some drinks and a mother that couldn't control her emotions.
