If I figure this right, your Mom and Dad, Grampa and Grandma, and your Uncle and Aunt all have properties on lakes that they rent out. There seem to be a lot of places like that in France. All of them are beautiful. A beautiful place to live. It was nice that you brought your Grandparents things back from the UK.
Love seeing your grandparents place so quiet and peaceful there. Glad your car is working again. A good idea would be to start a separate savings for car repairs and eventually buying a new or used car.

Honestly sounds like a wiring issue. Those tend to act up when moisture or extreme lack of moisture are present. Exposed wires can corrode and only get good electrical flow when moisture is present before it completely corrodes away
