    This was really well explained; incredibly helpful. Thank you. I actually feel motivated to give this a try tomorrow on the rink!

    hmmm I have seen many tutorials on the three turn and actually with you showing me YOUR FOOT and pointing to the where the pressure actually is applied and changes from the beginning to the end that is more understandable. I have been trying to do a successful three turn for over a year .... (lol) I actually now get it where your saying to put the pressure during the movements. However I am applying this to roller-skates instead of ice-skating. =) I cannot believe how detailed you have made this for me .... thank you !!!!!

      I'm so glad you're finding that helpful! I think its so important to know the pressuring of the feet!

    This is an absolutely excellent video! I've been struggling with 3 turns for two weeks on ice now. I like how you really split it all up, supported it with graphics, and showed slow motion. I'm going to try this on the kitchen floor (tiles) tomorrow. I do have an off-ice spinner that at first I thought I'd be able to use, but not sure. Any thought on applying these techniques using the off-ice spinner?

    I can do left forward outside but I struggle with/the right side. I keep stepping down into the circle because I am struggling with the turn, whether I turn too soon or late and then struggle holding the edge. Any suggestions? It may just be in part a confidence thing and coordination thing. I am right handed so everything clockwise direction is harder.

      When it comes to stepping into the circle, focus on keeping your core tight. if your core starts to fall your body will fall into the circle. Also forcing that leg to stay up will help. Sometimes you just need to force the free leg to stay in position and you will be surprised of the outcome!

      @@ShellySkates thank you! Yes, I just recently noticed I wasn't keeping my weight committed onto that skating leg and wasn't keeping my free leg/hip up. This made a big difference after correcting it!

    When we turn up to the rocker of our blade, does it slow down your speed while gliding back afterwards?

    • @ShellySkates
      @ShellySkates  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Your speed should stay the same or even speed up a little when you turn. If the turn is on the right place and quick enough you should be good with keeping your momentum. If you go up on your toe coming out of the turn, or your body isn’t checked properly, that will slow you down

      @@ShellySkates Thanks! Your video was also extremely helpful on helping me practice off-ice and on-ice my three turns. I learned how to control my speed and turn too! I am ready for my gamma test! Thank you for this lovely tutorial!

    And we can clearly see you have a book about Trump on your bookshelf. :-) ha ha ha. (seriously, great video. My son (age 10) is a skater. You've helped him greatly.)

      Yeah my boyfriend mentioned that and was like you probably should move that lol. To be honest though I didn’t buy it. Glad you find the videos helpful!
