The new Native Instruments Traktor Kontrol S2 MK3 is the latest entry-level controller for the new Traktor Pro 3 software.
The Traktor Kontrol S2 MK3 has an excellent price, comes bundled with Traktor Pro 3, and has a compact footprint to fit into most DJ booths and tight spaces.
The S2 MK3 also has bigger jog wheels and better RBG backlit performance pads than the last version of this compact controller.

At last! An honest description of the mk3! I switched from my old mk2 and was soooo disappointed by the cheap built quality and low output volume of the mk3. All the other reviewers seem to not talk about these important issues. So, thanks again for an honest, spot on review.

Just a suggestion for a potential new video: why not doing a couple of simple mixes comparing the two units?
I still prefer the previous model. All the effects are missing here, and nothing is better than before. I did not like this move by Native after so many years. The real upgrade is to buy the new s4, otherwise for those who already have the s2 mk2 I don't recommend to buy the new one. Cheers man 👍

I also agree. As much as i love the idea, i would have preferred a 399.99 price tag with higher build quality, fx section, and some pad fx for both the new s2 and s4. Otherwise, the new units look pretty decent. The s4 looks excellent though.
The build quality is probably lacking compared to the S4 mk3 because the S4 is almost 4 times the price!
That's a clean lil controller bruh
It is cheaper that the mk2 in terms of built quality , the latency is worst also , I burnt out the stock crossfader in about 2months of scratching , replaced it with an innofader
Hi nice review ! Question how do we resolve the low headphone issue of the mk3 version ? I read somewhere that by using the charger volume is increased significantly ... is that correct ? Thanks ! Philippe

Does this still come with tracktor pro 3? And does this controller support audio stems?
Yes, it comes with TP3 and it has limited stems control... Only 4 banks for the pads...

Hey I got the S4 Mk3 but can uptrade to a DDJ 1000 for a couple more..would you recommend it?

lol..look at where that master volume knob is...almost maxed out.
That was on my practice speaker setup which only consists of monitors. The headroom is decent on this. Not Rane or Pioneer level but good for a controller...
DJBooth Pro Audio Just the job for a small backyard barbecue if you ask me....ordered one today. Just wondering if I will need more than my iPad for it to be honest as TDJ2 is pretty good now.

I was contemplating buying one, but until I saw the main outputs are RCA. WTF is wrong with Native Instruments. This is the fisher price of controllers.

I think it's possible to use its USB Hub with a USB to Midi Adapter for Midi out. Not sure though.

you've lost me with "mp3". Someone who plays mp3 has no clue about DJing and who has no clue can't make a trustworthy review on DJ equipment. Sorry, but there is a reason why some DJ softwares don't support MP3
