'How to spend time by yourself' would make a great video! I think it's something a lot of people struggle with & even more so in the current climate. I found this video really useful - tysm! I like hearing about different people's routines & the tip about having a clean/tidy space is ESSENTIAL!! 👏
I’ve been working from home for about a year now but I still love learning new tips! ❤️ Even though I’m so used to staying home, now I want to go out even more because I know I can’t lol! Does anyone else feel this way?!
Sat down to drink my morning coffee and listen to you chat -- you are so wise and your words are so comforting, it's like listening to my older sister or something! thank you
I have been working for 3,5 weeks from home now. Clean desk and having a routine are a must for me too! And doing your bed every morning has changed my life ever since I started doing it in College! I wish I had more self discipline with the not working from 10am to 10pm. Make it a 7:30am to 8-10pm situation for me. Yesterday was even midnight ... But at least I am taking time off for my lunch break! Without any screens! Just a book, a podcast, or simply music. Works wonders to clear my mind for the rest of the day! Thank you for your tips!
This was super helpful! Like a lot of people, I'm finding myself suddenly working from home. As someone who struggles with anxiety just generally, I've made two tweaks to my routine that have been really helpful. First, I've switched from drinking coffee to drinking tea which I think has helped calm my nerves a lot. Second, I'm also a massive fan of to-do lists and I've found that it's super helpful to end my day by making a list for the next day. It helps me feel like I've closed out the current work day and makes me less anxious for the following day. Thanks for all the great advice! Your videos have been a huge lifeline during all this.
Great tips. I started working from home about a month ago (I'm a teacher) and this is a new experience for me. I caught myself working constantly, preparing for my classes, trying to figure out the best solutions for my students, making presentations etc. Now I feel I'm distancing myself from it and trying to just chill because everything doesn't always have to be perfect.
This is perfect. I needed to hear this. Ever since I've been at home, I started staying up late and sleeping in late. Just got worse and worse. So now I'm trying to fix my hours and develop a plan to get organized. Ever since I seen a vlog about you using a notebook to make lists, that's what I started doing and it is so helpful. Although it's late at night (LOL), I'm feeling optimistic about the days to come. Cheers and take care.
Really helpful video and I appreciate the fact that you were honest about working a few hours before going to bed and telling people that they shouldn’t do that because it’s good to have a limit for how many hours you work everyday. Loved the video! ❤️
I am used to working from home since most of my classes and lectures are live streamed and there is a lot of self study as a medical student. But this pandemic keeps my family at home too which is both a blessing and hell- all at the same time! I just can't seem to focus or have a proper routine! Great tips tho
This was really good one, Estée. Tips from the person who worked from home even before this situation is lige a gold now =) thank you so much for sharing. Hope you are happy and safe. Have a great day
Thanks so much for sharing these tips. It's been a big adjustment even working from home part-time (and from the office the rest of the week). I was already falling into a lot of the traps you mentioned so I'm looking forward to tackling next week with more structure! Thanks again
Thanks for the tips!! I'm still working on getting myself into a routine, but it's so hard to wake up somewhat early when you don't really have a place to be, or a meeting, or anything.
p.s. dark ambient music really really helps me focus, especially when i am drawing (i’m an illustrator)... podcasts too! when i’m writing tho, issa different story altogether! ☺✨
I usually work from home on most Fridays or one day in a week before this Covid situation. But now when we actually have to stay home, I think I get affected mostly mentally rather than productivity. I know this is the time that we must accept and acknowledge that we may not be able to do a lot of things that we wish to. That form of acceptance I think is more important and try to remain positive. Have a good working regime, keeping yourself happy at home (to know what makes you happy), exercise following a regular routine but to be okay that certain days may not be bright and cheerful. Take care and be safe everyone.
I have watched your videos for many years and I think it is the first time I comment! Thank you so much for uploading this one. I am currently working from home and it hasn't been easy because I have a hard time taking breaks. Thanks for all the advice! Stay safe with your doggie Effie. Love from Portugal!
You are my WFH spirit animal. I have to keep myself focussed and have to set mealtimes etc to make sure I don’t let my work and personal life bleed into each other 😘😘
Estee, could you do a video about how you moved to the UK ie visas, etc? I’d love to move to London but am finding it hard unless you have a work visa. Thanks!
She made an episode about this on her podcast with another Canadian who moved to UK, and also has an old TH-cam video about it, search How I Moved Abroad.
We have a saying at work about getting the worst task over and done with - to eat the frog first thing in the morning... What can be worse than eating a frog right?
In Italy we eat fried frog legs and I’ve heard they taste like chicken, never tried them personally - not my jam, but this motto wouldn’t apply to my office for sure lol
I'm really struggling with working from home and keeping a routine. The lack of interaction makes it hard for me to concentrate on anything. This video was really helpful, Estee, thank you ❤️
Thanks for the great advices! I‘ve been working from home for 4 weeks now and a routine is definitely the most important thing! Greetings from Munich 😃
@@kaiju_k5042 Hey there, this was filmed weeks ago before the government ordered complete shelter in place! Just thought you guys should know before you assume things. Estée, like many TH-camrs, doesn't necessarily film and edit her videos at the same time that she posts them. Cheers everyone, hope you're safe & healthy :)
mushroomqueen create a uplifting playlist and listen to it while you shower! Also talk to yourself! Say “ I’m going to be productive, I’m not going to wallow around, NO WAY!... lol this totally helps me!
Can you explain us a bit more the change of the room you had with a desk for a meditation room? I’m just curious cuz that room looked lovely after your changed it and put the desk and the organizer on the wall :)
Love this! I completely second getting ready in the morning - it's imperative for me. It's also nice, because I can wear things that are not pajamas, but more fun than my work clothes. Another HUGE one for me is using a browser that you don't get any notifications on. Firefox girl in the streets, chrome girl in the sheets. ... sorry, I don't get out much.
This was really helpful, thank you! By the way, I purchased a bottle of Wonderoud after watching your Perfume Favorites video on IGTV and I am utterly obsessed. Love from Spain! 🤍
Hi Estee, I hope you see this comment. Just saw your video about mental health and depression. Have you ever checked your vitamin D3 and B12 levels? Some people that have a deficiency on those have depression. I've heard about it from many doctors. Hope this tip helps. Love.
I eat at 11.30 as well and my bf always makes fun of me because of that :D but it's just the time i get hungry when having breakfast at 7 and then not have any food until lunch :D that's just how my body works
I'm actually great at working from bed in my sweats 🤷🏻♀️ but I do take some time off during breakfast, lunch and snack time and I make sure I always have a routine! Also opening up a window and letting in the sunshine works really well for me to stay positive and productive. 😊

I agree! I personally find it difficult to spend some time alone but I want to know how to enjoy doing so!
pro tip: you can watch movies at Flixzone. Been using it for watching all kinds of movies recently.
@Wells Mark yup, I have been using Flixzone} for since december myself :D
@Wells Mark definitely, been watching on flixzone} for since november myself :)

yes!
I work from home permanently too. I miss running little errands and coffee breaks out, things like that I used to break up my day with.
Thank you! I love when you chat business and work. It helps a fellow work from home Canadian feel less alone ❤️

So nice to see what your routine is! I think we have a similar internal rhythm. I need a proper morning before I feel alive enough to work. 🌹

Amazingly helpful! Wonderful video Estée :)
