My heart would never be able to prepare of what's gonna come in S2. I love all the male lead characters, but Xiang Liu really caught my heart. He is cold, unpredictable and you just cannot read what's on his mind. I know she won't end up with him and that he woild be dead in S2 as per novel, my heart breaks. It's so sad and tragic, that she actually likes him but choose not to fall in love with him because they both know they can't be together. XL has so much burden on his shoulder as Chen Rong rebellious leader, and they are actually enemies..XY knows that she wants and needs a man that could put her as his 1st priority. Unfortunately, XL cannot let go of his burden to be with her, not because he doesn't love her enough, but he doesn't want her to get hurt. Jing on the other hand, approached her first, confessed to her, promised her the world but ending up breaking her heart. Older brother has a country that he needs to take responsibility of. Basically, no male leads are free enough without a single burden to be with her. But truly...I wish XL could give up everything and be with her, they are such a great couple, he is her confidant and her soulmate. But one thing is she cannot control him, that's why she chose not to fall in love with him, but she does attracted to XL. My heart 😢 If only XL confessed to her, asking her to give him the time limit like Jing did, the story would end up differently, but again his character isn'tsomeone thar XY can control and he won't obey as much as Jing does. Jing is so indecisive and cannot hold on to his promise, it's not like I hate his character, he is such a fine gentleman, soft and well spoken with a very kind heart, but sometimes being too kind isn't good, it lets him to be indecisive. Same here I like XL character so much without him xiayao would not be able to live bcz he is the one who sacrificed his lives for her . He gave her the ability to protect herself by teaching her archery then he revived Jing so she could have someone to rely on he told her about the island so she will have somewhere to go in the end he wished her a life of peace and happiness
She does love him and suppresses it. She did a lot of irrationality and many things only for him and not for Jing. She has XL only in the mirror which in Chinese mythology is referred to as the one and only, she spends time cooking poison only for him, and she follows him around, she looks for him in the crowd, a gambling den that even Jing gets jealous. Twice her father saw her looking at the mirror laughing and giggling his dad expressed it that he prefers to accidentally commit a grave sin and kill FFYY just so she can marry Jing as he is the right one. XL is not, he is the enemy. Also, it's really hard to ignore the lover bug as it kills life. If XY only liked XL and did not love him deeply, XY would have died long ago before even Jing could confess. It states that the lovers raise the bug, producing the lover's bug. Both live and die together. If one does not love the other while one loves the other, one of them should die but XY didn't die. For 100 years she didn't die but the lover's bug even grew. The voodoo King mentioned this to her, If you only gave your heart to Jing your boyfriend, How come you are still alive? If you didn't die means the heart remained unchanged. I also have the same question with this. lol. XL can control the bugs for only a fact that it will not hurt him when he gets jealous, feels hurt to see XY with Jing and or so XY will never knew how much he lovers her.

All characters has their journeys but XY and XL unspoken love is the hardest to ignore and be denied both in the series especially in the book. In season 1 we can clearly see they love each other. In season 2,after XL losing FFB's identity, we will see XL cementing the walls he put up, and carving his heart hard and controlling the bugs harder and being harsh to himself (he will suffer a lot more), In her revival, we will see XL's walls become impenetrable and soon forgotten by the world, feeling helpless and breaking point of his life, his story untold though XY often remembers him and compares him to everyone she meets. XY is often reminded of him like a fleeting echoes or memory never gotten, both lost love, loved and missed forever. That even when she married TSJ, his death became so significant that it dictates their future. She decided to go to the ocean as she remembers him there.
Before her relationship with Jing became deep, she really put her heart out and said that she would leave with him if he can let go of everything, but he didn’t. However I don’t remember if at this time she knew FFB is XL or not. So it might not count too

Yes. Xiao Yao is in love with Jing (whom I adore), but let's be realistic, that would never have happened if a relationship with Xiang Liu (the best male character in this series) was possible. Sorry, but it's very clear that she's in love with him and it's circumstances that are keeping them from letting go and being together. I have no doubt that if circumstances would have allowed, Xiang Liu would have been Xiao Yao's first choice and vice versa. Jing and Xiang Liu are literally the two males characters that Xiao Yao is canonically in love with (because yes, I loved Cang Xuan, who is my second favorite male character in this series, but Xiao Yao is clearly not in love with him), but there is no doubt who in my eyes she loves the most. (Sorry, but Xiao Yao knows that Jing is in a dying coma, could die at any moment, and when she wakes up, the first person she hopes / wants to see is Xiang Liu and her bird takes her to see him ? And when she understands that she won't see him, she takes her time to lie down where they both were to cry ?) But the thing is, you don't always end up with the person you would have chosen. They love each other, but know their relationship is doomed to failure given the circumstances they are in, so they do not act on their feelings and will never allow themselves to. It's so tragic.
if there WILL BE a season 2, i feel the drama will end up with XL as the main lead coz in s1, i feel like there were many indications. first their chemistry is of the charts more so than with TSJ who the FL is supposedly in love with. i feel like what she had with TSJ is dependence and security. and secondly, there's this rumor about FL being a demon's daughter and if this becomes true in s2, then there is greater possibility of XL lending FL a helping hand and them spending time and further developing feelings. FL also has admitted her attraction to him once when he tried to kiss her to give artificial breathing in she said something like she don't want him to help her breath that way coz she's scared he'll enter her heart or something( i dont exactly remember the details tho) and with TSJ i felt like she was taking care of a child while with XL she showed her real emotions and had an actual convo. anyways i do hope she ends up with XL in the drama
