Perfect! Our LOGIC MAX COMBI C24 had warning stating OVERHEAT LOCKOUT. You were right it was the red gas lever had been knocked to the off position. It must have been knocked by the ironing board under the stairs. Thanks. Weird thing is even the installation manual didn’t give such advice!!
Just fixed my ideal logic max c30, I had a water pressure drop earlier, managed to fix that... but accidentally turned off the yellow gas valve while doing so! Thanks for the video.
Well I owe you a pint or three sir. Somehow when topping up water on our new Ideal 26 boiler I caught the yellow gas off / on lever! Thanks to your video I thought I'd check the obvious first and low and behold the was off! Thanks again.
Dear Mark your video is very Professional & helpful, (unlike an awful one from Kamal Shahal?) but our Boiler is quite old Ideal Classic NF 230, we at this point just want to find where to switch the ignition on from. It seems it might also be frozen water in the drainage pipe that goes from the boiler outside the wall. Will be extremely grateful if by chance you get this message on time to help us in this wintery evening God Bless you 🙏
Hi Mark, I have the same problem as raytrevor1 I have an Ideal Logic+ Combi installed in 2017 it fails to ignite when turned on by the timer if I go into service mode the boiler starts up ok, I also noticed in service mode that the fault codes on the display are over 400 days old, non are about the resent problem. Another way to start it when it's running without igniting is to turn on a hot tap wait for the hot water then turn the tap off the boiler goes to central heating mode and works fine till the next day. I would appreciate your thoughts on the problem.
Try the condenser overflow outlet . Could be frozen up. Defrost with warm water and clear any blockage. Then reset. The pipe can also be eased out of the rubber boot under the boiler to clear quickly. Be careful easing the pipe back in 👍
Hi I got logic + message saying check gas appliances tryed to reset and call for water but still no. Water boiler has been switched off for 2 weeks because ov holiday
Interesting, but. When on the timer my boiler (Ideal+ Combi installed 2017) does not restart in the morning - Ignition Lockout. But I press the reset once and it works fine. Also if I set the timer on continuous and simply turn the temp down - so that there is no demand all night, there is no problem. Boiler continues to run fine. What I don't understand is - if there is a problem, why does the boiler restart and continue to run? Why the difference between timer start and pressing restart? Not really a question - more of a bitch! If the super brain of the boiler can see a problem that stops it working, why doesn't it show what the problem is on the display? Or would that make the engineers job too easy? I know the answer is usually 'call an engineer', but I have only had the problem since an engineer serviced the boiler a month ago!
If a boiler has a flame loss message then you reset it then it makes a kettling and banging noise and seems to work ok when the noise goes away But then it eventually goes to A lockout message is it safe to keep resetting it? It will come on but then go back out later on is it safe to keep resetting or no? Please help disabled and currently sitting in freezing cold!!????
Kettling and bumping and banging is down to poor flow usually. Whether that is is that the pump isn't working properly or blocked pipes or blocked heat exchanger either way a heat exchanger is getting too hot and the boiler is shutting itself down. You could turn the boiler thermostat down so the boiler does not run as hot that. This may help. I can't tell you resetting your boiler is ok . sounds like you need to call an engineer
@@collectorsfc8089 - Okay, well only an gas engineer could test it, if obvious potential issues like clearinh any frozen condensate pipe & pressing reset doesn’t work.

You are a genius! I had been fiddling with the knobs and I'd switched the gas off. Thanks a million!
Just fixed my boiler (ideal logic ignition lockout). Thanks a lot

It was the yellow valve! Thank you for your very clear advice. Much appreciated!!
Great help, thank you!
The tip at 2:20 sorted me out.. Looks like my missus repressurised the system this morning and turned that valve gas off :)
Many thanks, checked the gas valve underneath, someone had turned it off. Turned back on, inline, restated fine.
Thank you very much for this check.

Turn another gas appliance on, like your cooker hob, and see if it is working.
