- Welcome back to our channel. Life with the bridges.
We are the bridge family trying to get the most out of this rat race we all call life.
In September 2021 we found out our dreams had come true. We were expecting a new addition ….to the Bridge family.
We spent the next 9 months, like any normal parents would, preparing our life for the arrival of our little boy.
On the 11th of may 2022, at 11:11pm we were bless with the birth of our son. HE WAS PERFECT. We instantly felt love like we had never experienced and our family of 4 we always dreamed of. Was finally complete.
We had the most magical first 8 months with Teddy experiencing all that life had to offer. UNTIL on the 24 of feb 2023 he got diagnosed with high risk AML Leukaemia.
We spent 6 months (184 days to be exact) at Great Ormond Street Hospital. He endured 2 rounds of chemotherapy and a full bone marrow transplant in hope that it would save our son's life.
We documented every part of his journey on this channel to raise awareness and give childhood cancer the exposure it deserves.
After riding the hellish and unpredictable storm Teddy made it to the end of his treatment and RANG. THAT BELL!
You are joining us now in our next chapter of this journey at home at bridge HQ, as we try to rebuild our life and continue to spread awareness about what it’s like to have a child post cancer and transplant in hope that this second chance at life we have been given. IS FOREVER.

Our perspective and what we want from life when spending 6 months in hospital fighting for your child’s life, let’s just say has changed a little.
All though myself and Katie have been lucky enough to travel the world far and wide in the past and now are slightly restricted for now due to Teddys recovery. This doesn’t mean to can’t dream, explore and go on adventures from our doorstep to show our son what life has to offer.
TIME is something that none of us have control over and let me tell you. It isn’t on our side. I don’t have time. We don’t have time and you don’t have time. Yes I said it. YOU. DON'T. HAVE. TIME.
So if there is one message we would like to spread to all of our community here on our channel. It’s live for today as tomorrow is never promised.
We are going to breathe deep, dream big, travel wide step out our comfort zone and go and grab life with both hands and make the most out of what ever time we have left on this earth. AND WE are taking you along with us. So buckle up as LIFE. WERE COMING FOR YOU.

Never apologize Scott. Your reaction to all that’s happening is very similar to Teddy’s with food and textures. If you want to put a name to it, it’s a form of PTSD. Your whole family has been through a very traumatic event, which we all pray is totally in the past. However, the effects of it will not quickly go away. We are here to support you all, and pray for you all. Sometimes your at your strongest when you show a weakness. Love to you all.
Never apologise Scott. Teddy is growing stronger every day thanks to you both loving and caring for him. Soft play was amazing seeing him running around without a care in the world. He is growing into a smart little man.

please please please don’t worry too much. I know it’s so hard, so heavy, so scary. But if God would have wanted Teddy, he would have taken him.
He instead made him more healthy, more cute, more adorable. He wants him to live and he will do forever! I see Teddy in my day dreams, going to school and making friends, doing his homework and playing on the playground.

I absolutely acknowledge that it is 100% frightening to love something so completely and be so afraid of losing him. Unbelievably unnatural and inhumanly impossible to emotionally comprehend.
Scott, it will always be a roller-coaster. Even if your children are healthy, you still have "feelings" that something can happen. Just look how well Teddy is getting along. He seems like he is thriving and looks very strong. Keep your heads held high and keep enjoying your life. ❤

As a mom who went thru this and a nurse practitioner, my heart aches for u all. My best advice is to make the most of every day and make so many memories. Don’t think about what could happen, unless the doctors have said there’s nothing more that can be done. It works. One can go crazy with the what if questions.

It’s ok, vent, cry, it’s ok. No one here judging you! You are both fantastic parents! Teddy is a lucky boy having you as dad. It’s a lot for anyone to deal with. Concentrate on the good bits - you are both superhero’s! Give yourself a break. Hang out with mates, talk to them, have a night off, have a laugh. It could be the never ending stress has got to you a bit , which is quite normal.
I know you get freaked out about Teddy "crashing" when he played. But all kids do that, even totally healthy kids. I know you have to keep a good eye on him, but he clearly is doing well. Let him play, and just keep snacks and drinks available.
I am so sorry for all of the emotions your family is experiencing right now. As parents, we all know exactly what you mean. I can't imagine being without one of my children, and thinking of how I would handle that makes me so fearful. Our children are so a part of us. As you said, nothing like that has happened and pray never will. Sending you all strength and prayers. I hope your days since these events have happened have been better and that you are all doing well today.
You are an amazing daddy! Feelings are so healthy! All feelings! Tears are healthy too, they actually contain leukophalines which help with stress. When we cry, we bathe ourselves in a natural analgesic!

Please do not apologize. The way you are feeling is normal, the anxiety, fear. Maybe a support group or attending therapy would be helpful. I am happy Teddy is doing so well. He is very active, full of energy, and adorable, as always.

You have to let your feelings out because if you don't it will not let you enjoy your life with Teddy. Kate must be feeling the same way so you must let her know your fears and you her fears. Teddy is a true cheeky blessing and you and Kate are doing everything absolutely possible to make Teddy's life as wonderful as you can. Teddy inspires us all. I just absolutely love watching him at play. He is a little 'earth angel' sent here by God to teach us all a lesson on how to be 'brave'. We are all praying for his complete recovery and I so believe as millions do on the 'power of prayer'. Yourself and Kate have been so strong through all this and if you feel like crying and venting 'good for you' get as much of the pent out emotions out on your walks with Willow. Try not to worry Scott. Things takes time Teddy still could get to 100%. It is not totally bad news it is in the 80-90's, and not getting worse. He is stable so just try to focus on the positive. You had me crying when you cried.
You two are such fantastic caring parents. I can’t imagine what you two deal with mentally. I think you two have the right to show what ever emotions you need to so you handle this. I’m sure there will be ups and downs emotionally. Cling to each other and all your loving families. Positive vibes being sent your way. Think of how much Teddy is enjoying his life. Take care.

Scott, Katie, Teddy and Willow I do understand the heart break of having an ill child , but u must remember little cub is still fighting to get completely well . At the moment he is doing amazing milestones for a 2 year old that is fighting a terrible disease, I’m so glad he is having an amazing time with his adventures with family , but Scott my friendly advice is for you to get more rest as should Katie u can also have great times with your baby boy at home . Teddy has an amazing play area , I know he loves to walk but I think home activates would be great for a while so teddy can limit his walking for a while . All my love to your family.
