Once they get a little older, and if they're still interested I start showing them things on my banjo.

Hi Jim I'm a new banjo guy, as new as you can get actually as my Christmas present banjo was stuck in shipping due to the big snow storm we recently had... should be here around the 5th they say. I see you are playing what appears to be the Recording King Elite 75 ? I was looking through your old videos and one compares this banjo to the somewhat less expensive RK35, in that vireo you seemed to prefer the 35... have you changed your mind and now prefer the 75? If I like my new Christmas banjo then I'm thinking I could get the 35 as an upgrade, which would you get if it was you? ... the price difference is not critical for me but I'd hate to spend a few hundred more for the 75 if the 35 is as good or better...I also looked at the Dirty Thirties RKH 05, but it seems to be missing that chrome armrest thingy....plus it's a lot cheaper and I worry the 05 might be a poor performer. BTW: My cheap banjo that is on the way is a Pyle banjo that Amazon has as a kit for 199.00

Hey, great video, thanks for it. I have a question/problem with my new banjo (I got for Christmas, haha). I know as it is brand new, the strings need some time to "settle down" and it gets out of tune very easily. Bud I have problem with one specific string. The thing is that I want to play a song that is in G minor tuning. So I tune the B string to B flat. But it won't stay there and kind of tunes itself down to an A (and stays there) the thing that really bugs me is that this happens so fast that the banjo gets out of tune during the song. So my question is: is this normal and will this problem go away by some time, or is there anything wrong with my banjo? Thanks for you answer. Cheers.
