Wow. How sincere this humble & creative soul is. This is terrific, much-needed medicine for this time on Earth, everyone distracted, over-babbled & estranged from themselves & from the planet, like ghosts. Thank you both so much. This interview needs 5 million views. (Or better yet, 5 of us who will DO what is suggested here. I am starting, already feel relief.)

I was convinced as soon as I read about the condition that I was ADD/ADHD - but actually I was tested and the answer was no. I was tested by my aunt who is a developmental psychologist, and she also commented that I was too high-functioning. However, I had all of these issues in school. I think I'm on the "spectrum" if such a thing exists for this condition. I was also the only person in the history of my elementary school who needed math tutoring in order to avoid failing, even though I was very good at non-math/science subjects and got above-average grades (my case began the math tutoring program) and I was the only girl in my class who almost never did their homework (my legacy), and my inability to pay attention in class or complete assignments, as well as my level of disorganization, was a constant issue. It was so embarrassing to me and to this day, I am still deeply affected by these issues, in my jobs and in my life. I also did drawing in order to pay attention and absorb, but I discovered that trick in high school. In elementary I got in trouble for this, but some of my high school teachers accepted this and I excelled in those classes. That being said I also have this ability to hyper-focus, and it has granted me the most enjoyable life despite all my difficulties. It's sad but I will probably never get married and have a family - I am intensely independent and I must live by my own schedule. Romantic relationships have been almost (you could say) disastrous for me, though I want to make them work, it's just very very hard. Friendships have been good, but I need a ton of space, which can be hurtful to people. I have a very complex job now, but I'm good at it - I finally found something well-suited to me. In my personal life I have essentially devoted myself to self-improvement, and it helps me a lot. I learn for approximately 3-24 hours a day. Some days are very much about art, or being in nature, but I need to learn constantly. Finally, I couldn't live without a daily hand-written journal - it is my lifeline. I love the bullet- journal. This is amazing!

Hey fellow neurodiverse gal here! I highly recommend getting a second opinion from a psychiatrist who doesn't know you. A lot of family members are unintentionally biased in their diagnoses of other family members. Plus it's important to check in with a psychiatrist not just a psychologist when it comes to diagnosing neurodiverse conditions.
      Much love and best wishes!

I respect the host for asking insightful and orderly questions that give listener a whole idea of bullet journal. Plus, he allows the author to bring in some contexts and stories along the process. Brilliant!!!

I’m a 63yo Woman just started BuJo a few weeks ago. This interview caught my attention and then rocked my very world. I’m likely old enough to be your parent, an “old woman” but your stories resonated profoundly and left me in teary breathlessness. My get to my BuJo! Things are falling into place. Me? ADHD? If so, that would explain my childhood and it’s residual effects. OYoyOY!!!

I'm not educated on ADHD. All I knew "back in the day" was I could not learn in a box. The classroom suffocated me as a child and I was forever in trouble for staring out the window.
Both of my high-school children have been homeschooled their entire life. They have studied at lakes, beaches and mostly just chillin on their trampoline in the backyard.
They are blessed, thriving and seem fairly well adjusted.

Yes, I was a poor student also. My children were homeschooled too, they did so well and didn't get the self esteem hit like I did from school. It's amazing seeing children grow in a more natural way. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you both for sharing your experiences! We certainly agree, and I can attest to this personally, that there is no one sure fire way to learning. What works for some may not necessarily work for the rest. So, it is always a blessing when we find that method that allows us to learn and enjoy at the same time. ❤️

I love this interview I’ve always (since a child and now I am 59) have had difficulty holding onto information anything from stories that people have told me to jokes names of places and numbers I just thought I took after my mother very forgetful thought it was in my genes! Very frustrating for my hubby because he doesn’t understand why I can’t absorb anything and for most of my life I’ve got through by joking about it having a laugh and being positive. I am a Artist and love creating so that was my escape but I have recently bought ‘How to think like Leonardo De Vinci’ and I am learning so much he always journaled with bullet points and that’s what I’ve just started doing now...but I love how Ryder has explained it in a way that I can understand a big thankyou to you both best video out their deserves a million likes! 👌🙏

At first I thought Mr.Sandler was a bit to bouncy ( not sure if I have the right word) but after I got into it he did an *exceptional* job interviewing Mr Carroll, getting to all the key points of bullet journaling.

I'm not saying technology is evil. MS One Pad might be the stronger tool for organizing.
However there's something about analogue logging that you can't get from digital.
Writing by hand is one form of meditation. And bujo actually can evolve into artsy things after we're comfortable with ourselves and able to pour our expression into it.
