I heard Kantarow play this at the Royal Festival Hall, London, last year, and was bowled over by his mature, intelligent interpretation, and remarkable technique. He got a thunderous applause, as you can imagine. Certainly a pianist to watch! Bravo!
I heard him just a few days ago in Vienna Konzerthaus! The same concert no. 2. It was just amazing, live performance gives me absolutely different feelings

Il a vraiment une classe folle et une maîtrise de lui telle que l'on peut croire que si Dieu lui prête vie, il pourra nous jouer tout le répertoire pour piano existant ici-bas....

I thought the same thing. Some of the higher notes have a clear "pang!" And I like how Kantorow isn't like Michelangeli, who'd simply have refused to play. "All I have is a bad piano? I'll find a way to make do with it."

Gros problème de tempo dans le premier mouvement, si lent que les cordes tombent en pièces. De l’afféterie dans les mouvements de bras, pour un résultat sans vraie force. Le piano est une casserole. On a connu le jeune Kantorow meilleur. Peu d’émotion pour ma part.

I would be upset about that piano. It sounds as badly out of tune as some upright pianos. It's especially bad an octave above middle C.
