(especially that last one) i might be missing something but with the currently settings i don’t know how much the actual difficulty guessing the ghost would be altered with these settings changed.

I did way more runs than what you see in this video (I got blasted like 10 times lmao) I was being harassed by multiple Yurei's which ultimately let me to guess that The Banshee was also pure luck, but went with my gut feeling!
Funny enough your banshee singing hunt thing allowed me to pin the ghost down on this weeks challenge mode... More testing is needed to see if this is reliable

It's not reliable. I would do 1-3 hunts with this exploit grind instead of just 1. I wasn't in any rush so I took my time a little more in case the ghost was hard or impossible to figure out. I had some luck identifying Banshees. Banshees will follow you around so sometimes I would move from the picnic tables. I did this especially when there was a ghost even because the ghost could hunt after the event was over and instakill you. I noticed that if the ghost was following me around (like watching its interactions always be near you) I would mark it Banshee.

Hi Xarv! Just a question, how did you know it was a Thaye and not a Moroi at 3:00 minute? You were in his LOS just for like 1/2 seconds...It could be a Moroi too or i'm wrong?
Due to its speed while I was hidden The Thaye is generally faster than the Moroi, up until you're spotted Had it been slightly slower, I would've went with Moroi But yes, I didn't spend enough time in LOS to give the viewer a general idea The coming parts will show Thaye vs Moroi a lot clearer

Yeah, sadly Mare and Yurei fall under the ghosts that you can't tell from just the hunt. You can test for Yokai though, just start screaming into your mic and if the ghost is completely oblivious, you got a Yokai on your hands lmao
The Yurei is the ONLY ghost that can FULLY close other doors other then the front door. it can also close the front door WITHOUT starting a hunt :) im not sure about the 'double touches' you mentioned though, but can do some investigating on that matter.
@Xarvinth Did you noticed the fog get darker and darker as you played more matches? Seemed that way for me to the point where it looked just like Sunrise. But if I loaded the difficulty with different weather, and then went back to fog, the fog was normal again.
I keep messing up Raiju's and Oni's. Raiju because they basically always spawn close to me so I just think it's a Thaye and Oni because I just forget to look at the blinks...

For solo play, yes However, this was my very first time trying the challenge, after not playing for a fair amount of time I usually play with a friend or two, and it's mostly just us messing around and having fun
Yes this is very boring. I only did this because I wanted the T3 items unlocked asap to see how they looked and functioned, then never again. Using all this knowledge (and more) on other maps to actually try to figure out the ghost, without having to guess half of the time, is very fun and feels very rewarding though.
why is the fuse bon location shown ? should be a multiplier you could get more, + be irrelevant since the breaker's gone so theres no jinn ability anyhow ?
Thaye is slightly faster than the Moroi at 0% Sanity, one way to tell them apart is that the Thaye will not speed up when you're in line of sight, whereas the Moroi will!
All I can says is that; if you you die in contract that uses foggy weather and relaunch another fog one, the weather bugs out and will then look different To fix it, you want to run a new contract using any other weather setting My settings are at the end of the video, or you can refer to the description for a full list! Most, if not all ghosts can sing However, if it always sings during hunts/events, you're most likely facing a Banshee You can only pinpoint the Banshee in co-op play (I made a lucky guess)
How can you tell when you're dealing with a demon, goryo, mare or mimic with only one hunt? I know you can tell that the ghost is a mimic if you see orbs, but holding a camera during a hunt wouldn't be a smart move. So how can you tell that you have one of the ghost that I mentioned with only witnessing one hunt?
You sadly cannot tell any of those ghosts apart using just one hunt. If you were to run this map, you may be lucky and have an orb on the main camera which would mean Mimic as evidence is disabled in this difficulty The issue with this challenge is that you'd only be able to tell 14 of the 24 ghosts, using just one hunt
For Jinn, there's a bunch of boxes that needs to be ticked before it can speed up It requires the Fuse Box to be ON, Line of Sight and to be a couple meters (3 or so) away from the target, before it'll speed up Moroi just need the average sanity to be low, and then it'll speed up further if a player is in line of sight

Not entirely sure I understand your question, but here goes The Banshee can sing/hum during any hunt/event and will do it more often than not Banshee itself cannot be told off of a single hunt, unless you play multiplayer
Mylings can be tough if your focus is on something else The Myling is quiet and generally won't make any sounds, not until it's within 12 meters of the player

It's just terrible luck If you instantly die, that just means you were in the ghost room, and it just happened to be on top of you Or it's a Wraith that used its ability and then immediately hunted

The Jinn quickly speeds up to Raiju speed when it sees you. If you see it walking normally and then beeline to you when it sees you, it's most likely a Jinn. Good way to test is also have an electronic on you, and turn it off during the hunt to see if the ghost slows down. If it does, then it's a Raiju.
@@PossiblyAutoclicking I'm not sure why people think this when the Jinn has a clear speedup when it sees you. I did the grinding on Camp Woodwind to get the level 3 items, and Jinn was one of the easiest for me to discover because of the way it speeds up.
If the breaker is ON, the speed of the Jinn will be fixed at high speeds. This challenge has no breaker, so the Jinn is one of the ghosts you'd have to guess! If you do this with the breaker enabled, you'll be able to tell by it's sudden increase in speed (It's almost Raiju like, except the Jinn also needs line of sight and not electronics to speed up)

It will change it's ghost model at least once every hunt I made it more obvious in part 3, and added text when exactly it happens So keep your eyes out for when that video drops! (still a wip)
The Thaye's speed is fixed and will not change, even when in LOS The Thaye can only slow down, but you'd have to age it The Moroi gets faster the lower your sanity is, and it speeds up further, when you're in LOS
wraith's cant walk through salt during hunts but other ghosts can!, so put down some salt at the table, if it doesnt go off you have a wraith on your hands😄
You're right! That's absolutely a thing you can look out for! This here, was my first attempt at the challenge after not playing for maybe 3-4 months, so I just kind of went in with whatever I had and didn't think much of it haha
Bro this strat has been making people tunnel vision hard in my lobbies. Like yesterday I was playing normal no evidence rounds (not the 0 sanity crazy x12 multiplier Camp Woodwind that people are farming for lvls), and we got a Thaye. It was obvious, very slow and did not speed up at all in LoS. Some dude insisted with me that it MUST be a Deogen because it was so slow. I said no, its obviously a Thaye. We spent so much time in its ghost room, now its weak. I wait for it to hunt again, and it was even slower this time. Dude went out insisting it was a Deogen. He was wrong, it was a Thaye. Guess he spent more time farming this crap than actually playing the normal game the way its meant to be played
I honestly have no idea what the public side of Phasmophobia looks like, as I've never played it I doubt it's THIS strat that made the guy incorrectly identify the ghost, and it simply just being inexperience
@@Xarvinth I don't know why else the guy would simply not even consider the ghost being a Thaye just because it was slow. In this custom setting you will almost always be getting a prime Thaye so it will always be super fast. So if you get a Thaye you'll instantly know. But it's written in the journal, the Thaye will age rapidly in the presence of the living. The dude didn't even consider this. And he was high level (high 80 if I remember). So I think he must have been spamming this custom difficulty to get through the levels fast and got a wrong impression of the Thaye because of that.
Level doesn't always equal skill I'm still leaning towards the guy simply being inexperienced And even if he did spam this difficulty, the only person he's cheating, is himself@@IDyn4m1CI
@@Xarvinth Absolutely I agree. But 1) It would be VERY unlikely that this guy got to that lvl while playing normal games and never once encountered an aged Thaye in his play time. To get to that lvl playing normally, you would have to go through at least 200 contracts on Nightmare difficulty, maybe more. 2) Many new players are using this strat to unlock T3 items fast, and by doing so, getting a false impression of some of the ghosts. Like Thaye and Moroi being fast. They aren't always fast. That was not the first dude that I've encountered in my lobbies that was very surprised that the Thaye in our game was slow, he was just the most reluctant on agreeing with me.
Yeah, they're only cheating themselves for not putting in any real playtime (I'm not saying people should be doing this, I only posted it for fun and it blew up) If I were to do publics and someone has no idea what they're on about, I'd just go with what I know@@IDyn4m1CI

It's a fun little challenge yeah! I didn't go for too long, maybe 20 matches tops to avoid burning myself out haha

As a note, the Yurei is known for double door touches. If I'm not mistaken, you can hear this from the tent around 4:08 to the left

Yeah, as I was playing, there was less and less fog. It may be a bug when using the same weather on repeat

Obake can also be identified by the sound of its footsteps. If you listen closely, a footstep will be missing every once in a while.

Having the fuse box shown or not doesn't change the multiplier afaik

That does sound odd, as I've never gotten less than like $2300

The Jinn quickly speeds up to Raiju speed when it sees you. If you see it walking normally and then beeline to you when it sees you, it's most likely a Jinn. Good way to test is also have an electronic on you, and turn it off during the hunt to see if the ghost slows down. If it does, then it's a Raiju.
@@PossiblyAutoclicking I'm not sure why people think this when the Jinn has a clear speedup when it sees you. I did the grinding on Camp Woodwind to get the level 3 items, and Jinn was one of the easiest for me to discover because of the way it speeds up.
If the breaker is ON, the speed of the Jinn will be fixed at high speeds. This challenge has no breaker, so the Jinn is one of the ghosts you'd have to guess!
If you do this with the breaker enabled, you'll be able to tell by it's sudden increase in speed (It's almost Raiju like, except the Jinn also needs line of sight and not electronics to speed up)

This is great way to level up and get money, but i suggest buying salt and talking to figure out if its wrait and yokai.

When you make a custom game, do you get all the xp and money for real or not?
If you make a contract at x13 and you complete it for, say $100xp, you then get $1300xp
Thats why u bring a crux incase the ghost room is the benches

The Thaye's speed is fixed and will not change, even when in LOS
The Thaye can only slow down, but you'd have to age it
The Moroi gets faster the lower your sanity is, and it speeds up further, when you're in LOS

This here, was my first attempt at the challenge after not playing for maybe 3-4 months, so I just kind of went in with whatever I had and didn't think much of it haha
Bro this strat has been making people tunnel vision hard in my lobbies. Like yesterday I was playing normal no evidence rounds (not the 0 sanity crazy x12 multiplier Camp Woodwind that people are farming for lvls), and we got a Thaye. It was obvious, very slow and did not speed up at all in LoS. Some dude insisted with me that it MUST be a Deogen because it was so slow. I said no, its obviously a Thaye. We spent so much time in its ghost room, now its weak. I wait for it to hunt again, and it was even slower this time. Dude went out insisting it was a Deogen. He was wrong, it was a Thaye. Guess he spent more time farming this crap than actually playing the normal game the way its meant to be played
I honestly have no idea what the public side of Phasmophobia looks like, as I've never played it
I doubt it's THIS strat that made the guy incorrectly identify the ghost, and it simply just being inexperience
@@Xarvinth I don't know why else the guy would simply not even consider the ghost being a Thaye just because it was slow. In this custom setting you will almost always be getting a prime Thaye so it will always be super fast. So if you get a Thaye you'll instantly know. But it's written in the journal, the Thaye will age rapidly in the presence of the living. The dude didn't even consider this. And he was high level (high 80 if I remember). So I think he must have been spamming this custom difficulty to get through the levels fast and got a wrong impression of the Thaye because of that.

@@Xarvinth Absolutely I agree. But 1) It would be VERY unlikely that this guy got to that lvl while playing normal games and never once encountered an aged Thaye in his play time. To get to that lvl playing normally, you would have to go through at least 200 contracts on Nightmare difficulty, maybe more. 2) Many new players are using this strat to unlock T3 items fast, and by doing so, getting a false impression of some of the ghosts. Like Thaye and Moroi being fast. They aren't always fast. That was not the first dude that I've encountered in my lobbies that was very surprised that the Thaye in our game was slow, he was just the most reluctant on agreeing with me.
Yeah, they're only cheating themselves for not putting in any real playtime

If I were to do publics and someone has no idea what they're on about, I'd just go with what I know@@IDyn4m1CI
