I will be visiting japan in march 2022 for vacation and I want to go to the anime convention. Suggest me how early I should arrive at the tokyo big sight
Will be attending ax first time in 2019. Unfortunately ill be going solo since all of my friends watches anime but arent into attending cons. Hopefully i can find a group to join...
@@bobjohnson6131 they're more into anime than I, however I do enjoy cosplay a lot! Then again it's still 8 months away and a lot can happen in that span of time. They all live in Cali so it isn't a problem for them. I'm flying from Iowa!
_Official_Cinna _ i miss those days honestly. 2019 is the first year i’m not going just because every year it seems to get more and more crowded. although last year this did have amazing air conditioning which definitely didn’t happen in the past
I’ll be going to this years anime expo and I have a couple question if you would please help me out. 1. How early should I get there so I can be in the front? 2. What are the activities there to do? 3. Is there a map for you to use? 4. How long does anime expo last in a day? (I got the 4 day one) 5. What concerts do they have? (Like what kind of jpop, either songs from animes or just jpop idols) Thank you! 😊
1. I once got there at 4am and people were still ahead of me in line. So get there at a time that's comfortable for you. 2. just like any other con - look on their website for exact details. 3. yes, every con always hands out a map. 4. lol 4 days - like the pass says. 5. look on the website.
Last year i only went on friday and we got there around like 6ish maybe a little later and there was like maybe 30 people in line we went to get our bag crap came back like an hour later and there was well over a thousand people lol big mistake. Ended up waiting like another 2 hours or so just to get in.
I've been going to ax since 2014 and at 14 years old this being my first big con it was overwhelming but I was excited and intrigued about the event and I've been going to ever since! Ax 2018 was the first ax that I skipped to due to personal family issues.. but over the years of attending I really got use to it and it is definitely one of my favorite conventions to go yo! I know how to properly navigate through the convention now ahaha I'm so excited for AX 2019 and finally going as a 19 year old with no adult supervision ahahah
This is what happens when a Con outgrows its venue, in this case, the LA Convention Center. They need to move AX to a venue that has at the very least over 1 million square feet of exhibit space, otherwise it's too small resulting in people packed like sardines.
Thanks for making this!! I'd love to go to this convention eventually, but it's good to see all the pros and cons beforehand. I'm sorry you didn't have the best experience going. Hopefully it'll get better and they'll get more organized.
with the next AX around the corner, i really enjoyed this video. hopefully I will be more calm knowing what goes on during my first big convention now,, pff.
Can't wait for AX! It's in two weeks aghh! I'm gonna be cosplaying as Sal Fisher from Sally Face because I typically go as game characters rather than anime characters, heh.
California conventions, where they treat people like shit and people let them! Support other cons! At least, until they remember, "Oh yeah, we're dealing with humans! LIVE people! Perhaps maybe we should treat them with a little respect and consideration!"
Sorry to say but they tell you to try to be at panels in advance (it can cap for premier). It's common sense at the big events to try and be there even earlier. You do get front of the line access to panels as long as you arrive in advance but autographs are never front of the line for premier and never were. The past few years they've let regular attendees in before that full hour but I've always gotten what I came for during the first 30 mins. Sucks that you had so many issues :\
syl syl lol I showed up three hours in advance for a panel (the hero academia panel) and was still told there was no premiere line for it. All the other panels I was able to make it to, I always showed up and hour to two hours before and got in. I know the rules xD And yeah autographs were previous years there were separate lines and my friends were able to go through premier lines to get tickets before others... plus I spoke with multiple staff members (actual HQ workers) and they did state the policy did change for autographs. But it’s fine I just made this video to give my side of things.
I didn't go to the my hero premier because I always hit up the dealers hall first then go to industry panels (sentai @ 11) and that sounds like garbage if they did that to you. I've been going since the start of premier and every year I got autographs I was told to stand in line with regular attendees. This is my main con and that is poor communication among staff & volunteers. I can attest the communication is god awful at times. Everyone's experience may differ and I get lots of use out of my badge because I am a big industry panel go-er.
syl I 100% agree with you that the communication is awful, but yeah it was pretty bad for some panels. For me the only reason I truly remembered and also my friends remembered about the autographs is that premier badges got ahead of me for autographs years previous. And one particular year previous, I had wanted to get the author of kamisama kiss’s autograph (even though premier was pushed ahead of me and others) yet I still tried to get an author to sign my stuff (meanwhile my appendix had burst and I turned as pale as a ghost) xD I ended up rushing to the hospital after the author turned away 75% of the line even though we had ticket stubs for our place in line
I wasn't trying to bash anyone but I've seen some pretty dumb complaints about lines when people show up minutes before an event. I feel bad for anyone who had to stand outside this year because that heat wave was unreal. Word of advice to new con-goers is to stay hydrated :)
Me: Alright I’m to in joy this year anime expo Security guard: Sir we are over capacity there’s just too many people. Me: But there’s only 20 people Security guard: *EXACTLY*
lol my friend went this year and had the same sentiments, it's sad to see this convention get worse and worse with each new year but unless they actually hire people who know what they're doing they will always have this problem.

I'll be there as well with a group of my friends :) itll also be my first time :)
It will be my first time going as well. I'm meeting some online friends for the first time. Hopefully will be a great experience!
@@ThezSoldier57 same! I met mine 12 years ago and this is the year I go see them for the first time :)
DEATHROW ELITE you guys are lucky. Most of my friends aren’t that into anime as I am. I need to meet some new people

Man remember 2015 when our badge was 50$ for 4 days and no pushing and shit. Man wtf did anime suddenly blow tf up
Probably became more popular

Tory R 4. I meant like how many hours in a day? And whats a good time to get there like not too early or late?
Tory R also when does it start and end in a day?

Kimochi Senpai so when should I go? Also when do they open the gates? I’m scared ;-;

If I ever go to an anime expo when I'm older I WILL SEE DOKI DOKI LITERATURE CLUB AND NOTHING WILL STOP ME
Hell yes, I finaly found someone of culture😁😂
Great choice of music, thanks for listing them!

This is quite informative. Thank you for that :)
What's the song around 11:17?
Figured it out!
Neon Genesis Evangelion Opening - "A Cruel Angel's Thesis"

Isn’t some of these from another video.
Don’t mind me just fangirling over here😂😍❤️
I played $675 for premier badge just to cut lines.

I’m going to anime expo this year, so this time they mailed out the badges, last year you had to pick them up right?
They mailed badges last year. Last year was the first time they did it.
if you buy the badges ahead of time they will mail it out but if it's last second you usually have to pick it up at the convention center.
Where is this ??
Me: Alright I’m to in joy this year anime expo

was the 3 hour line just to get in or was it for the movie
I was there and it was to get in it was crazy but luckily I had less clothes on for a cosplay
just to get in
Every single person I asked last year at AX let me take a picture with them even with my hentai mask on they still let me take a picture lol
Sigh, i can only admire at the screen.. hehe..
It was a lot worse this year. Never going back.
