Had this game for a while now, rescued a beat up neglected p.s. 2 from a friend of my nephew's, and remembered seeing this in a store, looked on Ebay and found a good copy for cheap, as a Corvette fanatic and owner of a 1993 Quasar Blue Metallic Lt-1 Corvette, i absolutely love being able to play my Vette in a video game, fun little game
Just picked up an original Xbox at a thrift store for $5 and somebody left this game in it. Game looks pretty alright. Sounds like a pretty good value, just gotta get some AV cables.
I just picked up a PS2 slim that came with a box of games and this was in here, I never played this one when it came out, now I might have to give it a try!
I still have this (thank God), and now that I think about it, the physics model reminds me of Ace Driver, Namco's sister arcade game to their System 22 Ridge Racer games, only with F-1 cars. Also, the soundtrack is rocking! There's a guy with a whole playlist uploaded here.
This game is a certified hood classic, and so is its soundtrack. Y’all need to check out the soundtrack on TH-cam, it’ll sell the game to you. One of the best budget racing games ever made
This is exactly why I like Classic Game Room, you learn things, Mark goes off on a tangent but it was enjoyable hearing him talk about movies and things that aren't about the game. I know you would obviously click this review to hear about the game but you hear about the game and MORE!
I have this game and I absolutely love it!! One of the things I like about it is its attention to detail. Each of the 5 generations of Corvettes featured in this game have their distinctive speedometers which are in actual Corvettes. In addition to this, each Corvette has detailed information about it. However, there are 2 things that I don’t like about it. The first thing that I don’t like about it is its long loading times. The second thing I don’t like about it is the fact that whenever you crash and overturn, the game doesn’t automatically reset your car like other racing games. Otherwise, it’s a great game and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes racing games.
I'm glad they went back to the older intro, tbh that record scratching in the beginning of alot of reviews would always throw me off and make me uncomfortable
daamn mayne i love dis game mayne dis is 1 o da best gamez dat u can buy . reminiscin when i used 2 play dis wit ma peeps : Nick, Joe, Bubba and Ray. we had such a blast . big shoutout from ATL peace out mayne. god bless ya
Love this game. Mom's ex-boyfriend gave me the PS2 and Xbox versions that beloged to his son *he died two years ago :(* and this is one of my favorite racing games ever.
I played this game as a kid after my dad 100%-ed it and it was a blast in splitscreen. Unfortunately only 2 players locally, but it also had Xbox Live support, which, while I never got to experience myself, must have been awesome back in 2003. Also, the game was actually part of the 50th Anniversary celebration, made to commemorate 50 years of the Corvette line in video game form. Anyway, the original Xbox that my dad's 100% save file was on recently stopped working, unfortunately :( However, we recently got a 360 to replace it so I guess my dad has an excuse to 100% it again lol
Me and my brothers have a special technique for games like this (you never need to brake) its called "ride the wall" just gun it into every corner hoping there's a car there to serve as your brake, if not, just use the wall, it's quite effective
Even though this game is an arcade style racer, it made me miss the times of the more simulation style Need for Speed games such as NFS Porsche Unleashed, which is similar to this game. It has a retrospective of Porsches all the way from the 60's to the year 2000. Great game. Mark should try to get a hold of the PC version since it's the best version and do a review.
Anyone here know where i can find the song in the background at 2:59 in this vid? been scouring the interwebz for years lookin, any help would be appreciated, thx
Tracks look really good and original. Has that retro good look. Lots of Vettes. Good garage. Tasteful music. Remake this in HD and release it on PSN/XBLA and gimme some funny trophies.
I want to see a Delorean racing game featuring the Delorean along with the BTTF Delorean and.... uh..... well, I guess two cars is all you really need for a racing game anyway, right?
Arcade is just a way of saying "unrealistic" in racing, but in general it means a game that's easy to pick up and play for quick sessions, but hard to master.
I can't believe no one has released a Geo Drag Racer game. Imagine going as fast as you can until your car breaks down because you start hitting highway speeds.
I have the other budget CORVETTE game for the PS2, CORVETTE EVOLUTION GT, though it's really a multi-license racing sim that had the CORVETTE name slapped on for the North American release so it'd sell better. Maybe I'll pick this one up when I also buy R RACING EVOLUTION reviewed a few weeks ago.
I think I got mine in a bundle that also had Super Trucks Racing and Power Drome... also good racing games, but for STR you'd have to like the idea of racing with a heavily modified semi truck... which is badass on paper, but I feel like it could be done better with the current consoles
I just got STR, and I played it once to try it out, and I think I might try it further. Btw which truck would you recommend for a beginner? I have no idea what I’m doing
Loved this game as a kid! I think it's one of the reasons why I love Corvettes now.
The memories man thanks cgr for making me nostaligic
I love your sense of humor hard to beat compared to other reviewers
Had this on the GBA and loved it! Don't judge, this is the closest you're gonna get to Gran Turismo when camping in Muskegon.
And the GT Advance trilogy?
I'm in Muskegon.. what a coincidence. Figured I'd play this bad handling game for a few mins.
@@CaptainFALKEN Hell of a coincidence, lol!
Well 5 years after that, the PSP fixed that

Apparently the Rockport PD can afford an entire force of Corvettes lol
only true gamers get that reference
This game was one of my first 3 PS2 games, along with Ford Racing 2 and Super Trucks Racing!
I still have all 3!
I’m just missing Ford Racing 2 now that I think about it. Time to complete the trilogy eh?
Great memories of this game
I love Corvettes! I need this game!
Just snagged a used copy, gonna collect it tomorrow.
Game looks fun.
i still have this
I had this game loved it then and still love it
There needs to be a corvette 2 with the c8
Subscribed. Very interesting to see the corvette digital. Greets from the v8lounge in germany. Also have a lot of corvette Videos online. Cheers 👍
I just have found a copy on Ebay... I'm gonna give it a try.. Thx for the review! :)

THE ONLY modern game that has the corvette that started it all for the C4 lineup AND its following years (1984-1989) !!!
where's my copy? i need to find it now.
This is exactly why I like Classic Game Room, you learn things, Mark goes off on a tangent but it was enjoyable hearing him talk about movies and things that aren't about the game. I know you would obviously click this review to hear about the game but you hear about the game and MORE!
i love all of these random racing game reviews.

had this game when i was a baby. big time memories.
This was the first game I got when I first got my ps2, I'd spend hours playing it!
They really went nuts with the bloom effect on this one, huh.
Love it when you reveiw classic games, that was a great game!
do need for speed hot pursuit 2 for ps2, one of my favorites
i had this game it was my favorite racing game as a kid
I loved that movie tangent you went onto. Funny that you review games and not movies.
I followed you up to the point where you started talking about Battlestar Galactica, because I went onto another tangent.
I'm glad they went back to the older intro, tbh that record scratching in the beginning of alot of reviews would always throw me off and make me uncomfortable

I remember playing this. Those are some aweful memories. Oh, God, terrible memories...
I bought this game about a year ago and haven't played it yet. Seems like I'm not missing much but I'll give it a go some time.
This brings me back...
Looks fun! I thought Kit was a Firebird??
I saw a a DVD 4 pack at Big Lots for $6 which included at least 2 Jim Kelly movies. Maybe I should pick it up.
Love this game. Mom's ex-boyfriend gave me the PS2 and Xbox versions that beloged to his son *he died two years ago :(* and this is one of my favorite racing games ever.

that is some of the best box art I have ever seen
Who doesn't have this game lol i used to play this all the time as a kid
I remember me and my cousins playing this game and just crashing in the 2500 speedway...good times
Bought this game as a kid. Hated it.
Me and my brothers have a special technique for games like this (you never need to brake) its called "ride the wall" just gun it into every corner hoping there's a car there to serve as your brake, if not, just use the wall, it's quite effective
same with GT all of them
i got this game for $1.00, how do you change the camera angles in multiplayer?
Even though this game is an arcade style racer, it made me miss the times of the more simulation style Need for Speed games such as NFS Porsche Unleashed, which is similar to this game. the video ends on 0:11 because i refresh the page and i still cannot see this video on HD
This Black Hole machine in the back "takes my breath away"
I NEED THIS GAME
My favorite Corvettes are the '58, '62, '63, '67, '68.
My real favorites: '59 XP-87 Prototype "Stingray Racer" and '63 Grand Sport Roadster.
Jim Kelly was the QB for the Bills back in the late 80s-early 90s.
Anyone here know where i can find the song in the background at 2:59 in this vid? been scouring the interwebz for years lookin, any help would be appreciated, thx

I said "who is Jim Kelly?" at the same time you said it =) Jinks!
this game came with my ps2. i miss new stuff on the ps2
i used to love this game
I believe Corvette has some of the best graphics on PS2 and still looks good to this day.
Ford vs. Chevy (which was made by the same company) is also a great arcade racing title for the PS2. I would like to see Mark commentate on that game!
I WANT A T-SHIRT
NOW !!!
where can i get it? =)
I want to see a Delorean racing game featuring the Delorean along with the BTTF Delorean and.... uh..... well, I guess two cars is all you really need for a racing game anyway, right?
i cannot see this video on HD because stays black screen
Why won't it play on the ps3 super slim?
i had this game when i was a kid and i hated the drag racing mode i could NEVER figure out how to do it.
I got this.Sure had fun with it back in the day.Good game.Introduced me to the crap ton of car models Corvette has!
I wonder what kind of car you can drive in this game...
Need an updated corvette game.
This was the only car game on the PS2 that i ever liked
Arcade is just a way of saying "unrealistic" in racing, but in general it means a game that's easy to pick up and play for quick sessions, but hard to master.
What makes the game an arcade style game? What makes the game not an arcade style game? I really want to learn about that.
Does a documentary count?
I can't believe no one has released a Geo Drag Racer game. Imagine going as fast as you can until your car breaks down because you start hitting highway speeds.
It's funny 'cause when I was like 6 year old I used to play this and NFS Hot Pursuit . Great racers and great for kids, indeed.
lol " uh no, there's no flesh eating dinosaurs"
Creating KITT by mixing a Trans Am with a 70's Cylon FTW!!!
Soon as I heard Jim Kelly I automatically assumed you were referring to the Hall of Fame NFL QB 😂
A-team didn't have a Corvette, Face had Corvette.
I think I got mine in a bundle that also had Super Trucks Racing and Power Drome... also good racing games, but for STR you'd have to like the idea of racing with a heavily modified semi truck... which is badass on paper, but I feel like it could be done better with the current consoles

I think you should do a review for kingdom hearts 1 and 2
I always enjoyed this and Ford Mustang, vehicle specific games with budget prices and mindless fun.
Loool I remember I got this game at my local burlington when I was a kid for 5.99 😂
Mark knows his movie trivia haha.
good review
Just got this game yesterday for one dollar. Score!
Wish back to the old theme? I dig it son :D
Change year - 2552
Change model - SDV-Class heavy corvette
(Couldn't resist. i'm a fuckin nerd.)
The town at 3:00 looks a lot like a track from Need for Speed - HP2
I didn't remember they make corvette game for the ps2
I bought a complete copy of this game last week for $1.06 including tax.
Hell yeah, it was released for PC!
This is CGR, I'll see if I can give him the idea.
Dude.....same here.....all 3 of those games were my first ps2 games
Megan Fox's got nothing on Jane Seymour from back in the day. She was simply perfect
Yeah. Jim Kelly was a quarterback for the Buffalo Bills
what country is that?
had this game fun times
They have Lamborghini in Italy for some police units ... Germany has some 911 turbo, and Corvettes are not that much expensive ! :)
Several places in the States actually had Corvette police cars. lol
