Super helpful video. I love how well thought out the sail control systems are…especially the barberhauls. Launching the spin out of the ama hatch looks very easy.
A Harken Reflex Furler makes launching and retrieving so much easier. The Reflex can be used for Top Down furling or traditional furling. The best of both worlds. You can even sail singlehanded!
Thank you for the video. However, for new owners we need to see every step. You did not show removing the main preventer off the port side and then attaching the preventer on the starboard side after the gybe is complete. Also it would be great if you could have a second camera and show Jens pulling the sheet and in a split screen show where the clew of the gennaker is.
great video, nice explination of things, but can you please do a 'rigging' video for this sail, ON the marina, as the lines, here, there, and everywhere can confuse some of us beginners, and esp. if, in the 'winter' we take the sail off the boat completely, for maintanence, or just to stop wear and tear (from salt, water, etc.).
Isn't it dangerous to open the float hatch at sea, especially with waves? (btw in British English we say goosewinging rathr than butterfly; in the US it's wing-on-wing ;-)
Thanks for the video. But as an owner of a used DF-28 I need to know how to setup the bowsprit. It’s rigged inboard now. Out on the water how do you swing it out and hold it stable? Tom
"Always have enough water to leeward" is the best tip for any spinnaker/gennaker sailing on any boat. Very good!
Great demo fellas. Enjoyed it tremendously. Nice light air day to demo the great setup on DF boats. Total class.
Another super video - thank you very much!
Jens and Peter, thanks for your efforts and sharing your knowledge!

Thanks again for a terrific video. It was great to hear from Peter.
Oooo, exciting. A DF video in my inbox 😎
This video series is excellent! Thanks.
Good on you guys, i like the way you offset the gennaker from the center line. Its a very good solution to optimise the using range of the sail.
I would trust this guy with my life. In fact I have. Hey y'all!!

A Reflex Furler by Harker makes this so much easier. You can fly any kind of downwind sail.

amazing video, can the barber hauler be used on the 25 as well ?
Have you considered using a Harken Reflex Furler instead of a sock? Much easier.
Great video, thanks. As a new owner of a 920 I’d appreciate any advice on the use of the preventer. Where does it attach to the boat?
Are you sure you have a preventer and not a boom brake? Ive seen preventers attached to traveler cleats before, but dont know if that is proper.
Do you use the mainsail-preventer with the gennaker also on a DF25sport?
great video, but I recon you should remove the ads
I would like to visit your company and sail the dragonfly 40 , l currently live in Annapolis USA 🇺🇸.
