#1 problem with this house is you are paying for A) The Land B) the construction cost and C) the profit for the Filipino family who had the house built but never lived in it and solely built it to turn a profit. Look how many houses are built for the sole purpose of making money off realestate. The vast majority of higher end houses that are built are built for this reason...and this is why prices are inflated and bloated in Phil. A mountain home in Baguio cost more than a nice mountain home in the US, and yet construction labor is in the US is often 10 to 30x more expensive. What cost $15 a day in the Philippines for a worker can cost you $300 or more a day in America but yet....the houses cost more in Phil?
Hey! I appreciate your thoughts on this. It is quite puzzling, the real estate game here. But when it comes to houses like this, not only do you pay premium for the house and land, but also the community, location, and amenities that can elevate your lifestyle. Labor is indeed cheaper here, but you know the importation costs, land scarcity, and (sometimes) demand, esp from OFWs, all play into pricing. Although profit is initially in the mind of the builders and sellers, this profit is reinvested to create more projects and help create jobs and further develop the community. Yours is an additional perspective for me. It’s refreshing and interesting to compare markets in the US and PH. Thanks for watching!
