Most of those who grew up in rural Jamaica in a single parent family have similar lifestyle, hence as adults these children tend to be very independent and resourceful.
Perhaps be envious of the life THEY have. I am in USA and I don't know an 8-year-old who wants to do anything but sit in the air conditioning and play video games. People in our country have become so dependent on all of our modern "conveniences" that they wouldn't be able to boil water if they were taken away, or our power grid collapses. They would first be in hysterics because they couldn't watch Tik Toks once their phone battery dies. It is so refreshing to watch children taking on responsibilities while their parents are out trying to make a living. The whole family works together for the good of them all rather than the kids depending on their parents to do it all.
I always notice that village kids know basic skills very well. They learn to be independent at a young age ,others because they are compelled to others just to learn the way of life but in all I just pray that God will open doors for them as they grow up in all their lives so the skills they had work in their favour.
In the USA they would have to be in school and the 8 year older would not be caring for her siblings, instead she too must report to school. If these laws are violated then Chikd Protective Services would step in to investigate and supervise their care. I support American laws. 😊
You support American laws that take kids away from their parents and put them in foster care homes who usually don't care about them. Because they are getting paid from the government. Not to talk of not having a good future. Most time they get into crimes, be stressed, and depressed. This is the American law you support.
@@dianelaki8358 some people are not parents when they neglect their child. Yes, I support laws that protect a child ; a child too has rights. . Rights to live!
This could have been a weekend or school holidays. US laws are different from Ugandan homes this is why our families stay together and children grow up in the home together. I grew up in an urban setting and when i was 8 years my mum woulr ask me to watch my brother and sister who were 2 and 6 because she had to go to the store. This is very normal in our African setting. I started cooking when i was 8 years. My mum would even send me to the neighbor to teach me how to bake cookies. Our community cares.
Praise the Lord! Hallelujah! Grace, peace, love, faith, and hope in Christ Jesus Amen. Romans 15:13 13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. Hard workers good job. ❤
What do you do in a garden every day all day that these poor kids have to do all the adult work i dont care what anybody say this is child abuse a kid has to have chores yes but this is too much the parents should be ashamed of themselves
"In the garden" doesn't mean a small backyard garden we think of. The parents no doubt work long hours in the field trying to make a living (and for this they should "be ashamed of themselves"?) Kids this age in USA would be sitting around in the air conditioning watching TV or playing video games and not give a flip about how hard parents work to provide them with all the modern conveniences. This is no different than in the pioneer days in USA when ALL family members worked HARD for the good of the family.
That is not her house. She is filming the children at their home. People in the village work. When she tells you she is going to the garden it's about half an acre of gardening. Mind you, she is not using machines. I have an aunty who goes to the garden at 6am in the morning and gets back at 10am to start preparing lunch. A lot of their food comes from that garden. So kids do small chores around the house, like washing dishes and making morning tea
This is very normal in some villages, kids helping make breakfast for themselves. What Parents farm is mostly what they eat and sell for kids school fees and buy other things they need. They have to be back before lunch so their mother can prepare lunch.
The farming will be intense for 3 months, and then they will only need to go for a few hours and wait for the harvest season. Otherwise they will have no food to eat and nothing to sell for kids' school fee.
God bless these dear, hardworking children🩵🩵🩵Pray they and their family are able to do better so they can have the education, success, and life they deserve.
Hello from Tennessee, USA. The maturity of these two is unbelievable.
Such disciplined children... May God provide for their parents to see them through school and provide for them
