    This is awesome. I haven't made pens in years. You've inspired me.

    I’m giggling because I watched this vid I after the Paradox vid, where precision is important and _urgent_ and in this video, a piece falls off and you slap it back on any old place. 😆 It must feel like a relief to make a cane like this after a really fussy one.
    Keep up the amazing work; your videos are great for teaching folks what to do (and what not to do)!

      Thank you! It's such a good feeling when you figure out how to translate what's in your mind into the clay.

    Beautiful pen! How long did you bake the polymer clay in the oven?

    I would love to make these pens. The paint strokes look amazing on the pearl background.
    I searched amazon but couldn't find them. Do you have a link or anything so I can purchase some?

    Do you think this would work with black instead of translucent? I was thinking of trying this with red in the center surrounded by black. Thanks! :)

    Lovely Bob-Ross-ian feel to the video. Let things happen and it'll be okay kind of thing.
    I was expecting you to rearrange the slices when you were using the wavy cutter, but you didn't. Is the goal to just push some of the white clay down into the green to get streaks? Would they be too uneven if you rearranged the slices each time?

    • @MotleyWoods
      @MotleyWoods  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      To be honest I never tried rearranging the slices, because once I figured out that I could get a bulge in the middle by swapping the ends, I was happy. I suspect if you wanted a much more even stroke you could do that.
      And yeah, by repeatedly pushing into the clay you push the white (actually translucent) into the green from the top and the green into the translucent at the bottom.
      If you do it with just a straight blade and straight across, it looks the same all the way through.
      If you do it from both the top and the bottom (flipping it over), it makes the lines too wavy and you don’t get that look of paint dragged along by a brush.
