I am trying something new now to help my front lawn fill in. I am now mowing 3x per week hoping to stimulate that horizonal growth you're talking about.
Awesome! Its a lot of work but it will help it for sure! I assume you are also fertilizing on a regular schedule? Every 3 months, depending on the type of fertilizer you are using.
It was discolored due to the fact you had other plants growing on top of it. It was causing your grass to not get nutrients or light. Yes 2 and half is great for this grass but you can cut every 14 days and have no issues. Every 7 is good also.
Are you sure it is actually 4 inches? My mower won’t even cut that high. When your mower is in the garage, on a level surface, use a measuring tape to measure where the lawnmower blade is and let me know. The highest mine goes is about 3 1/2 inches.

@@thesecretgarden6948 I follow Allyn Hayne's plan so I fertilize every 4 weeks with about 3/4 lb of Nitrogen. Basically spoon feeding.

You seem to have a bit of shade in your yard. Does it tolerate shade? Bermuda doesn’t grow well in my yard (too shady in parts)
I'm trying to figure out if I have St. Augustine or carpet grass. Does the St. Augustine grass put up stalks like crab grass?

Thanks, I'm subescribed 🤝🏻
Thank you for watching!! Glad you enjoy the videos :)
Do runners ever stop?
If you don’t fertilize or if you only fertilize with a nitrogen base fertilizer then you will not have as many runners
Thanks! I cut mine at 4 inches. Is that too high? Grass seems to like it, but I don't know.
Congrats on selling your house.
Edit: I can't spell.
