Back to the world of stereo again....

- Having just played a quadraphonic set out in the bush, thought I'd have another play about with the rig in stereo mode.
Using the Instruo Saich + TS-L v2 through the QPAS for a bit of phat synthy goodness, combined with the occasional mother + DFAM. Just a fun little jam...
I don't care what anyone says, this is true electronic music at its core
Who dared to say otherwise?
I predict by 2025-6 you are going to do the OPENING set as well as the closing set on Tomorrow land! As a 53 year old electronic fanatic starting with Jean Michel Jarre, you don't realise just how genius you are at making music. You are more DJ putting music together with changing wires than anyone out there and what's special is you 1000% enjoy your music!
pls never stop doing music. You are incredibly gifted
Have you ever considered sending your stuff to record labels, or movie directors ? You can clearly make it in this industry in my opinion
@paulsanta6310 I've seen alot people ask him that, and I would love to see this man create an album or so. He responded something along the lines of it would difficult to capture the essence of what this music is/means. Kinda like grateful dead live concert vs studio album, not the same.
Now this is just my interpretation! If I even remember correctly! I don't wanna put my words in his mouth
Honestly I’d love it if these were on Spotify as-is.
you could probably drive a spaceship after playing with that 😂
i couldnt even do this with a sequencer in fl studio, doing this live is incredibly impressive
You can with patcher and a couple live control surfaces. However FL will never give you that warm fuzz that a real analog synth will.
@@predator0121 what i meant was i personally cant
@@predator0121 how so? i mean electronic synthesizer is capable of producing any sound imaginable. Maybe i dont understand and you could elaborate on this subject
@@evaldaskowka Actually neither of you are really right imho. Nowadays "analog" patch synths and effects are using a combination of both analog and digital treatment.
And in the end, we're all listening to this video's audio on a digital medium. So in a sense, we lost the analog nature the analog signal. Though, analog circuitry can truly be unique in a sense that it is very complex to simulate it using digital circuits because of its "natural" randomness due to its components characteristics always evolving with time and environment (temperature, age, tolerances, ect..). That's why old analog Synth always had a tuning knob because their pitch would always shift after warm-up.
@@evaldaskowka dont worry... its just a big modular synth, connecting parts that provides sound produced by energy, your cpu + fl studio can do that and +1000 more things since it runs at ghz speeds... the only difference is that this guy knows how to use it correctly depending of the moment :)
can't stop listening to this. i love improvised electronic music like this
do you have a spotify? if not, create one cause your songs are insane
Yes, I was looking for your Spotify albums as well!
unfortunately i am fairly confident that they don't have a Spotify @@markneefs3458
I back ur opinion
yes pls
100000%
This is art and I hope it gets written in the history books of electronic music
Syncopation... Natural feeling polyrhythms... I like it...
These sound waves tickle my brain
wow! This is amongst the best performances I've seen on TH-cam 👏👏👏👏❤❤❤
Thank you!
@@robthebloke At 58:00 ish can I use a sample of that as intro music for a video it sounds awesome much thanks
For sure man, he is a Tomorrowland genius
Rob! Big fan of your music. You should release albums, create Spotify and go for world fame! Hahah. In all seriousness, though, this is world class, and the world deserves to know more about your music, and it deserves much more recognition too. Thank you.
That transition at 12:45 made me stop what I was doing and audibly “Ooooohhhhh”. So sick!!! Love it
My name is Giovanni Giorgio, but everybody calls me Giorgio
You have achieved symbiosis with the circuts. Good music development, concepts.
I've been listening to it over and over for several days now... it's become an album for me...
Love you mate ❤ Totally in to your stuff. Wish you a much wider audience, some big events, Europe tours, improvement and precisment in this endless search of most relevant to inner feelings sounds.
Fantastic stuff! Glad I found your channel. You inspire me on my modular journey.
What a ride! That was very enjoyable. Not a word I'd usually use but it literally brought me joy. Those grooves you get into around the 13min and 24min marks are super sweet. Good times.
Nice nice nice Rob. I see your channel rising, just like the sounds building up here.. Soon the big beater will enter and catapult you into 50k, then during next year, you'll be above 500k.
Withit, I hope the harvest of this channels income will give you more time and.. Whatever is needed and us more music in return.. A win win win.
Stay happy and healthy, greetings to you and your loved ones.
The other wizard.
That first song transition and drop!!!!! 😙🤌🏽🤯🤯🤯🤯 Absolutely fucking loved how super crisp and fat it was!! Keep up the awesome world defying magic! ❤
52min That got those vibrations =)
Man… what you already had going on was so damn good, but when you brought that kick in at around 56:00, and from then on out… my gawd. My brother and I were jamming this and our jaws were just on the floor. Keep doing what you’re doing.
Also, I’ve got a bit of a dawless setup going on right now… any advice for branching into Eurorack?
Thanks! I’ve been asked that question a few times - posted some responses in the comments under this video: th-cam.com/video/e_Ahss74v_A/w-d-xo.htmlsi=LJ_4zUEL0AfaD7v5
Probably worth having a read of those comments, and if you have any other questions, I’m happy to answer them!
I had planned to do a beginner tutorial for a 1000 sub special, but my subscriber count has been going up faster than I can keep track of!
@@robthebloke I’ll definitely check those comments out, and glad to hear that. Rightfully so!!
@@JamesGiannoni also check out JakoJako: th-cam.com/video/J9TwDM7qEbg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=WILaWBChbWOpK3q1
Her setup is the complete opposite to mine, but the goals of both are exactly the same. Bassline, melody, drums, Fx, and sequencing. There’s an infinity of possibilities in between, so what’s right for me not be right for you.
I also literally know sod all outside of modular, so expect my advice to have a slight modular bias :)
@@robthebloke oh wow, thanks a bunch! Checking out her stuff now.
Nice musik you play,,,,and a nice mothership you have 😜👍🏼
Excellent work
I don't have enough time tonight to hear it all out but I think I will listen to the whole thing in one go tomorrow while I do some 3D modelling stuff!!! :D I love it!
I would love to listen to this on spotify if you ever consider it!
Thank you Mr Wizard!
You are really pushing the envelope here mate (excuse the pun)
I got on to Boris Brejcha a few weeks ago and thought to myself...where is all our Aussie talent at?
And i just found it.
This shit moved me so much my guy, the world is not ready.
Much love❤
took me to other places, very cool, subbed!
Great to see another fine Aussie channel!
Thanks! 😊
Your sound is stunning!

So f... nice, just got here by the algorithmen and i love it ;D
my god, you are soo goood! awesome finding your music
Absolutely splendid mate!
thanks for the pleasant trip
This is one of the best modular performances i've seen on youtube so far. crazy good vibe! How did u do the transition at 12:45?
Strymon magneto on an infinite loop playback, slowed down the playback speed at that time.
Keep it up this is sooo great to listen thank you !!
You go SO hard bro. Much respect!
Keep it up man. This is awesome.
Yeh boy!
Just straight talent and gear. It's really very good. Thanks :)
Your brain needs to be studied
This is some filthy amazing stuff
Thanks for the Journey
absolutely magnificent
I really like the length of your videos/sessions :) really lets you dive into the sound and development
What is this neat little box on the front right? A trigger box?
Tiptop circadian rhythms - 8 channel trigger sequencer
spent tonight with you and a blun and some wine.
love your channel good stuff
Je te découvre tu as beaucoup de talent ! Tu devrais signé tes pistes sur un label et sa fait plaisir que il y a encore des puriste comme toi qui diffuse l'amour de la musique électronique! Respect de France 🙏🔥💎🌠
Jean Michel Jarre vibes!
What is it with the French and electronic music?!? Love the music y’all make but is it like a national style or something?!?!
those basses are so meaty man, nice and fat, love it
Is there kind of a mastering chain you use on your equipment or is this pure DFAM magic? Anyways, this is pure gold!
I’ve got the strymon magneto/starlab, and the wmd mscl, but that’s my main fx
Amazing
Reminding me of my favour ever, Deadmau5. 👍👍👍👍
I love your sets, very cool!!
I've got one question about your set up, the big machine is the synth, right, what does produce the 'notes' to play, is there some midi step sequencer or something? thanks!
A great master....
Badass transition at 50:00 whoa!
beautiful
Reminds me of how I felt when I first heard the music in Metroid Prime 1 and you first last on Talon IV.
goes insanely hard
bro that 6:59 is out of this world
You have to be some sort of audiophile. This is dope. Is it music? Or a sound?
It’s what excites me at that moment in time I guess? I do love a filthy analog sound ;)
Do you upload this mixes anywhere else other than TH-cam? Ideally Spotify
Make a Spotify mate please, this is wild. 🔥
35:30 this part my man, phenomenal
my dude, you are the fucking man keep em coming!!!
thats a banger right there
Great stuff! You can easily enter a trans with this stuff!
Yoo robb, I'm the guy from last time, words can't express your work.
I was wondering if there was a way to reach out to you to because I'm actually a visual artist from North africa and I would like to experiment more on your work and I can show what I can do ; If you have a mail or anything feel free to reach out.
Thank you for your music.
My cat, Milo, is still trying to find the entrance to your Jungle Fest. He was entranced..
Great music!
Can you put the camera higher so that your actions can be better seen?
What is the name of the device with the glowing flashing buttons in the foreground?
I have done with my most recent videos - tiptop circadian rhythms
❤
Dude, I can't get enough of your music, absolutely mesmerizing! Any chance of seeing some uploads on Spotify or SoundCloud?
39:30 oh yaaaaaaassssssss, yas yas, goodd
Terry Riley would be proud B-)
Dancing while patching 😂😂😂😂
so goooooooooooooood
WD-40 on the back wall, yeah!)
Love the part around 24:00
Bravo
PachWork 😍
👏👏🎶👍
This is a crime. A mystery. An unfurling thought. It sounds like intention. A hard conclusion. Tension. And accusation. The silence after you ask something you already know the answer to. 1:00 - 7:45
Great!
ça se met bien ici
Fuck yeah
I'm into it and it hasn't started yet
top tier
you magician! you've got a new fan, what is your little drum sequencer thing? i need to get one
Full rig is here: www.modulargrid.net/e/racks/view/2422962
It’s the tiptop circadian rhythms.
awesome! thanks so much man!@@robthebloke
Have subbed! 😎
Do you know 180 fact ,
I just got it up on my list here .
They should fill you and your stuff !
Great jam…you manage the transitions pretty damm well considering there’s only one of you and its a , id say semi modular rig?
Thanks! It’s probably fair to call it semi modular. When I’m playing a live set, when it’s all gone horribly horribly wrong, being able to jump straight back to the very well behaved moogs is a lifesaver.
The previous incarnation of this rig had way more modular craziness in it. This incarnation is a little hampered because it has a quadraphonic mix section (which I’m not using here). All of my recent gigs have been in quadraphonic - but all the stuff your TH-cam has to be in stereo really.
So yeah, it relies on the dfam’s and mothers, it relies on a pretty locked down drum setup, and a pretty locked down effects chain. It’s got just about enough crazy to get into the crazy modular territory, however it has very much been designed for improv live sets.
www.modulargrid.net/e/racks/view/2185798
That’s the current set up on MG
In terms of transitions, thanks! I honestly just know a few tricks with the gear I have, and somewhat over-rely on those tricks most of the time. That’s probably the hardest part to be honest - so I’m always looking for new ways to improve. Thanks for your kind words!
@@robthebloke Man, I would pay so much to hear this live and loud and quadraphonic.
26:46 😍😍😍😍😍😍
