I know I had a toy Hoover Junior (the green one), surprised I did play with it as I thought the real ones noisy (might be down to me having undiagnosed Aspergers I hated some noise, but would love others). It seemed in the 70's doing the hovering was regarded as women's work, just it was always girls in pics pushing toy hoovers around, and never boys, (no I'm not a raging feminist, but just an observation). My dad would sometimes do the hoovering. I don't know what happened to my toy Hoover, possibly got broken and thrown out. Who did and still makes the toy vacuums< I don't know if it's Casdon . I know they make the toy Dysons. Oh yes something a friend posted had me feeling nostalgic for Cresta fizzy pop. "It's Frothy Man" . I know as a family my parents bought a Kenwood Soda Stream c 1979/80 for Christmas, that's made me want to get a vintage Soda Stream.
Yes the soda stream was a fad I think the gas was expensive in the end people just brought bottles of pop from the shops in the end. but I think they where always better from the glass bottles!
Unfortunately all those friction drive Hoover uprights are broken. When they work properly they actually produce some suction, the bag will inflate and dust is collected in the bag. I have a boxed brown Junior like Kyle's that I bought brand new in the early 80s but unfortunately the friction motor doesn't work either, despite me hardly using it.

I have to agree fizzy pop always seemed to taste better from glass bottles!!!
