This song is severely underrated. Nobody can tell me Kanye West isn't one of the greatest artists ever if they've never listened to this.

The reason he decided to never put out a studio version of this song is because the live version does the song so much more justice, he's literally crying out to his fans and they just mindlessly cheer his name while he's opening up about all the pain kept up in him. It's truly a work of art.

The way that Kanye used auto tune to emphasize his alienation from reality on 808s is utterly game changing . Screaming that wishes he was a real boy through a digital medium, in a time where everyone said auto tune was disingenuous, is genius. “I tell the truth and I’m still running”

      You have no empathy. @monojuice 5 ปีที่แล้ว +108

R L he blames himself for his mother’s death because she died from plastic surgery that HE encouraged. Gets criticized by the media so much and is misunderstood, in 2016 he poured out his true feelings on stage and they took him and gave him electroshock therapy for speaking too much. He said that 2018 was the worst year of his life, how is he anything but tortured?

@@lahanialeggz I'd have to respectfully disagree! I believe this to be the most HEART-FELT song Ye has released, Ultralight beam broke barriers in its own respective right, a true work of art. But Pinocchio Story gives us a glimpse inside of Kanye's heart and head in a way he hasn't done before or since this song was released. I'd also like to point out how timeless all of his music is, but especially Pinocchio Story considering his public crucifixion in the media today. This next part does not pertain to you (Zay Leggz) but it highly bothers me that this man and his work won't truly be appreciated until he is dead.

The depth of Kanye's emotions resonates through the pain in his voice and the profound nature of his lyrics. I consistently assert that Kanye is a misunderstood lyrical genius. His life is undoubtedly intricate, and at times, he may display behaviors that seem out of character. However, what remains unequivocal is his unwavering authenticity and commitment to his beliefs. This authenticity is what inspires me and forms the basis of my admiration for him. Despite certain choices he has made, Kanye is undeniably a legend, a musical icon whose legacy will endure for generations. The trajectory of his career may have changed, but his enduring passion and dedication to music have remained steadfast. Truly, he is timeless.

The song is about the powers that be behind the scene trying to control his narrative which is even more prevalent today. 2022 Kanye is just an even more honest 2015 Kanye. They are literally trying to cancel him right now which is what 99% of this song is referencing to

In the song this is proven through how the audience cheers over his freestyle crying for help. they do not hear his words and his cries but instead simply cheer because they are hearing a Kanye West freestyle.

I never appreciated this song until I heard and saw this particular performance, the string section really elevates the song's intensity, and there's something extremely evocative about him dressing as a scarecrow/puppet to deliver the lyrics, which are about a performer putting on a face for the audience and making them happy in spite of intense sadness. This is great. One of the great artists of our time, the world will truly stop when he passes
