I've been struggling a lot with perfectionism lately. I recently started learning to 3d model for real (been "using" blender for years, but only now decided to actually learn to model. I'm primarily a developer now), and the amount of detail I find myself trying to add is pushing me back rather than forward. It's true that by doing this, I'm learning a lot of techniques that I wouldn't learn if I just did the basic, but I need to keep in mind that the basic is fine sometimes, because otherwise I'll never finish a project.
Thank you for this video, it's cool to know other people's perspectives on this.

Spot on mate! It's always important to have a moment in time in which you check yourself whether you're too caught up with the details and take a step back to see the bigger picture.
