For a second there I thought you were gonna read Murder She Wrote haha. You nailed it with the “futurist 80s” vibes, which is one of thing things I love about it. The series gets better because we see the characters develop more (which also makes up for the insta love bc Eve and Roarke have their relationship struggles).

I absolutely adore the in death series! There are lots of great moments between Eve and Roarke in the later books.

If you liked the mystery/romance aspect of Naked in Death, I'd recommend reading a regular Nora Roberts book (J.D. Robb is her In Death pen name). Birthright, Carolina Moon, and Three Fates are a few of my favorites of hers.
I loved Carolina moon, it's one of my favorites by her. I have sooooo o many of her books it's almost embarrassing, plus all of J. D. Robb, except for the last two, which are on my TBR. She's an excellent writer.
I love the JD Robb series and their relationship is fun to see develop.

Murder She Wrote! That was my grandmother's favorite show. We watched it together when I was growing up. I've read a few of the books. They're pretty good-very nostalgia inducing for me. Gonna give Do you want to start a Scandal a try. Thanks. Good cozies : Heather Blake has a paranormal cozy series with some romance, Emily Brightwell's Mrs. Jeffries series is delightful, Sofia Kelly /Ryan(she writes under both names) has several good cozy series.

Again The Magic is my second favourite Lisa Kleypas. There was just something about it that was so heartbreaking.

Aline has it so rough. Her father was ridiculous. I love how she just accepts his wrath in certain ways. She wants him so much she just goes with it, and he's like.... no! Be more mad. Aline did go on too long with her angst.
What made it 5 stars for me was Livia and her love. Gideon broke me. But that was for personal reasons. They really should have each had their own book.
So glad you read it!!! Worth Any Price is freaking awesome too. I loved the Bow Street Trilogy.
Don't be afraid of the blacklist, even though the books are a series, you can read the first three for the romance aspect and then the others more for the mystery and or procedural, with the romance as the backdrop. Does it show I adore that series?
The in death series is not really cosy, but I love it so much. I've been faithful to the series forever, because it's heavier on the mystery than on the romance. Plus I've been picturing Roarke as Hozier, so there's that. You should read at least the next two in the series, where the relationship is developed and you get to know Eve better.
I OBSSESED with that series. Only up to book 8 tho. I can't believe that series goes up to 50.

@@ireneafonso4171 and @idevourbooks Definitely gets better as the series goes. When you find a heroine who punched her rival and ask her partner to dispose of the trash? When you find a heroine who is addicted to coffee and Pepsi, hates being dolled up and is fiercely protective of her squad? Every book ( which is a case) pushes the envelope, and present the best vs the worst a human being can do, some maybe triggered by that but I had been known of crying when a character suffers and laugh out loud with the antics of others. Eve is a feminist, a survivor and Rourke is my first book boyfriend. Hope you enjoy the series as much as I do.

I’ve been wanting to read Naked in Death for so long. I suspect you’re right that it’s similar to BDB where the first book isn’t so great but gets better and better
Let me preach that gospel, because that's my favorite series, it does get better and better with time. My first was Portrait in death, which I bought by mistake, and loved it so much I went back and read the whole thing. It's just wonderful.

Ok I'm still on the intro part where you talk about the books you want to read but I recommend pushing through with the In Death series it gets better with every book. I finished book 8 Conspiracy last night and it is much better than Naked. Eve is developing so much and the personal relationships are evolving and more regular characters being introduced. I flew through Holiday, Midnight and Conspiracy in the last 3 days.
Edit - I see you gave it 4 stars all the books so far I have given 4 they are not knock you off your feet fantastic books but it is a great series x

@@PeaceLoveBooksxo I'm doing the In Death readalong on Instagram and I am reading one a month (two when there is a novella). I'm finding that really manageable as I'm not bingeing them and getting burnt out. They then make for lighter reading in between the fantasy and literary type books. I'm also trying to make them fit Romanceopoly squares as well but only managed with 2 so far 😆

I love the In Death series! The romance is subtle but fun. In my opinion, it does get better but I usually feel that way since the more I read about a character the more I connect.
Roarke is Bae. I'm almost up to date in the series, I just have to read the last two.

I've got to recommend the Maiden Lane series by Elizabeth Hoyt to you. I started book one on a whim and LOVED the hero. I'm now on book 4 (just from this weekend alone) and have loved each story more than the last. There is also one continuous plotline running through the first few books (as well as our MCs romance), which I've really enjoyed as it leaves me wondering what will happen next with our original couple when it deviates. They are also STEAMY in the best way possible and I've just really found them to be well rounded with characters who make believable
(if sometimes frustrating) choices, face realistic day to day concerns (for the time period) and the heres are flawed without being too aloof. Series begins with Wicked Intentions. Love your content and am excited each time I see you post!

I don’t know if you have scribd, but I think that is the only place I know of that has the audiobooks for that series other than audible. 💕
The Peer and The Puppet is my favorite BB Reid book. And I don't like high school YA but this doesn't really read like it is.
I love that whole series but Jaime and bea and Vaughn and Tyra were my two favorite books in the series.
