Dr. C. Baxter Kruger, theologian, writer [and fishing lure designer] is the Director of Perichoresis Ministries. Baxter is a native of Prentiss, Mississippi. He and his wife Beth have been married for 30 years and have four children. A life long student of psychology, Baxter has degrees in political science, divinity, and earned his PhD.from Kings College, Aberdeen University in Aberdeen, Scotland under Professor James B. Torrance. He is the author of 8 books, including The Great Dance, Jesus and the Undoing of Adam and Across All Worlds, and recently the international bestseller, The Shack Revisited. He teaches around the world. He is an avid outdoorsman and holds two United States patents for his fishing lure designs. He is also the founder and President of Mediator Lures.
When I was steeped in my modern evangelical theology I suffered profoundly in aloneness and confusion! Add some honest hearted striving and it felt even more hopeless!
This began for me in 84 and I’m 63 now, what changed for me was the Union. The realization that begins with “Jesus are you in me?” I’ve been in a Christ based counseling program for about a year now and have hit what folks refer to as the “hard stuff”. As Paul Young instructs healing occurs in community even if the community is a license therapist.

I too was raised from the wound in a fundamental, evangelical (Southern Baptist) church and it wasn't until a week ago, I heard THE Gospel and it's healing me! I was aware of Church History and the Eastern Orthodox, but I couldn't "hear" them because I was lost in my delusional understanding of the Penal Sub Atonement theory via Anslem, Augustine, Luther and especially Calvin. When I watched "The Shack" something began to move and then I watched Ragamuffin and Rich Mullins as well as Brennan Manning lead me back East to the Early Church...
In recovering from spiritual abuse life affirming theology is healing for the broken soul! Thanks Baxter for your impactful contribution! I refer to you and your work all the time!
Finally! An important emphasis on John 14-17. the Truth sets us a Free! Would that the entire western evangelical church get the priority 🙏❤️
The "Simple Gospel"!!! but the complexity of our rewiring/understanding! So appreciate the "pioneering" of Baxter, Paul Young and the others! Trinity may I(we) get this!
