this was a good, and well balanced review. I had my first taste of this bourbon just a few days ago, and it was wonderful. The other thing is that the later the review comes, the more positive it is. It seems that the older this bourbon gets, the better it gets.

I really enjoy this one. On my bottle, the back label, in fine print by the barcode, it says distilled in Indiana aged and bottled by catshead distillery in Jackson Mississippi.

Last weekend I picked up a bottle of Old Soul Cask Strength Uncut & Unfiltered 2022 Private Barrel Selection from McDade’s Wine & Spirits in Jackson, Mississippi, where Old Soul is aged and bottled. My tasting notes -- which I wrote before I found your video -- were almost identical to yours!: Caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, and a little bit of milk chocolate on the nose (maybe even a little southern pecan -- probably the oak influence); vanilla, caramel, and cherry on the palate; thick, creamy mouthfeel; and an ultra-long finish. 122 proof, but drinks like 105-110 proof -- no burn. I believe this is their last release with MGP-sourced distillate as they transition to their own juice, but I think the Mississippi heat and humidity is doing something magic with these barrels. 5 out of 5 stars for me.
