Dude, I appendix carry, and I think it would have sufficed to just state that taking a leak is not a problem at all, but you went ahead and demonstrated it. That was so funny, I thought you were just going to simulate, and when you actually started taking a piss, I lost the mouth full of coffee I had. That was hilarious, LoL.
Men's AWIB Bathroom TIP: When doing your final "Shake", be careful not to squish a nut against the end of your barrel. Don't ask me how I know. Great Video!
I'm overweight by 30 pounds and appendix carry a M&P Shield. The key is to create a habit even if its slightly uncomfortable. Your body will adapt and in my case, having a quality holster goes a long way in the comfort dept.
About as good as it gets within the bounds of decency, yet demonstrating it's quite possible to carry conceal and urinate in a public restroom. Outstanding demonstration of your knowledge/experience, and thanks for your awesome informational videos.
I really appreciate your unbiased perspective and admitting to the "dangers" of appendix carrying, definitely seems like you have peoples' interests at best and aren't selling someone something, unlike most people these days.
Thanks for the comment. Yeah, a lot of time people come to my channel for real advice, or real thoughts on products - so that's what you'll always find here, my honest, real thoughts on whatever.
On the tactical muffin top issue.... appendix is fine for me walking around because the gun rests under my gut, if anything the tummy helps prevent printing. When sitting though it's pretty tough because if you try to pull your pants up to prevent it from digging in your legs or whatever your stomach then pushes everything away from you and bends the muzzle inward. So if I am appendix carrying usually before I sit in the car it either gets moved to the side or comes off completely.
i do same, work good. are you pull you pants little bit down? it is work with regular jeans but not with tactical pants with hight rise (like 511 prolite) if don't pull down - horrible printing. if pull - look like guy from bad neighborhood. also , carry exactly on 12:00 , but low. can holster push some viens and I will have some health issues ? any advices?
I am new to the whole appendix carry thing and for the most part carrying period, so I value your input. your so good at communicating especially when there are so many youtubers out there...THX.Hope the channel grows
Your doing a great job with your channel man. Your always very thorough in a good way. Nothing of your information is ever boring no matter what people say. Keep it up man. You can go far with this stuff.
I'm new to appendix carry. Been doing it in the house trying to get comfortable with it. All my carry guns that I aiwb are similar in size to my g19 . I just can't get into sub compact guns beside the g26. I just started aiwb public with a hot chamber, and I must say its a better presentation and also better concealment then my usual strong side carry. But it is noticeably less comfortable. Advice I would give so far is get a quality gun belt, get a quality holster, and have a quality firearm. Personally I will only da/sa aiwb, and striker fired or sa firearms are strong side carry only.
I'm 6'7 250 lbs and worked for a moving company for a year. I ran my belt a little bit looser for when I squatted down. I carry a glock 17 and never have any problems. Having 2 clips on the holster helps a lot.
I've been appendix carrying for going on 2yrs with a holster made by Mike. I'm not skinny and not quite tactical muffin top yet...lol. I have no issues at all with appendix carrying. Everything he stated in this video is spot on for appendix carry. The right holster makes a big difference. You have to make sure you have a great quality holster designed for the position. I have a few other appendix holsters like G-code, Raven and they do not have the same comfort as what Mike is making. His holster is my go to for EDC. I highly recommend them and I am planning to get another made. He really knows what he is talking about when it come to appendix carry...great video.
Great video as always. I have always carried AIWB since I began carrying. I am 6 foot 2 inch and 195 lbs. I use Stealth Gear AIWB holsters for all my EDC pistols. I just find AIWB to be the most comfortable for my body type, and I feel much more in control of the access to my weapon at all times. All of the scenarios you covered are also reasons I preferred AIWB carry.
I'm 5'10 170 as well, just started appendix carry a month ago, even with a M&P .45 with the 4.5" barrel......works well. Love your channel man, keep up the good work! May get a holster from yah here soon.👍🏻
Thanks for the video. I just switched to AIWB. My holster had to soft loops, so I was straddling my belt loop, which put the gun at about 1 o'clock. I moved it to 12 o'clock and it seems more comfortable.
I have a tactical muffin and I carry appendix I haven't done it for a long time but I've picked up on some things while doing it. I carry a glock 19 with taran tactical mag extensions also with the beaver tail grip and I don't have much trouble concealing all of it probably just cuz I'm big or what but the main thing with big guys I've found personally would be how sit and bend with it on. I found the easiest and most comfortable for me is to grab my pants at the belt and pull out a lil and then pull up where my grip on top of my muffin when I go to sit in the car or anywhere to me it's the best and most comfortable way if u have a tactical muffin and u appendix carry. Also the holster I use is a t-Rex raptor with raptor claw and is by far the most comfortable holster I own personally. If this helps and body let me know or if u have any other ideas when it comes to tactical muffins and appendix carry. Thanks
I am at a point with your videos where I click like even before they properly start, purely because they are all so helpful, I have never seen you do a bad video. Keep up the good work bro. God bless. Greetings from Cape Town.
I carry a P938 in AIWB. The concern that I have is ride height. I can't get a good/fast grip because my holster rides low. New holster with adjustable ride height is on the way. Since I am fairly overweight (6'4" 235lbs), I can't really get my thumb between the grip and my belly when drawing. So I have been practicing my 3-finger draws in order to retain muscle memory. And yes, I am trying to exercise too.
Anyways I'm a pretty mobile individual. I work landscaping which means I'm constantly climbing trees and tall bushes, and walk around quite a bit with machines strapped to my back. On my off days I attempt to maintain myself in constant movement whether i'm self defense training, working out, taking long walks on the beach or having candlelight dinner.. lol The question i'm asking is... will appendix carry hinder my ability to do these things or is it amongst the best positions? Keep in mind i am a new weapons owner so I'm a nube to the community.
I have been appendix carrying since I got my ccw. I have had people asking me how I could even carry like that. These are people I see at the shooting range. I tell them it is really the easiest way for me to carry. Plus it is harder for some to take your gun from you when you appendix carry. I have to say you will go through a lot of holsters till you find the one you like that works for you.
I recently got my holster from Mike and totally love it. I quit smoking in January and have gained 40 pounds or so. Used to be 5'9"- 135lbs. and now I am up to like 175-180. This is the only holster I have found that works with my "tactical muffin top". I am trying to get back to fighting weight, but having a good holster I can AIWB in the mean-time really helps. Thanks again Mike for the awesome signed holster! Now I just need you to make one for a Beretta 92fs, a Kahr CM40, and a Bond arms derringer.
man that's crazy you gain 40 pounds I was going to try to quit smoking in the beginning of 2017 but hearing that you gained 40 pounds and hearing similar stories scares the hell out of me.
I'll take the extra weight over the shortened life-span. If you have the ability to quit smoking, do it. You can worry about a new workout plan later. Just remember, there's only one you. Try to hang around as long as possible!
+sixstringslaya thanks for the advice and putting it into perspective hope you can stay quit and I'll be quitting at the beginning next year have a good one bud thanks.
My main concern, is if you have to do something active. Low crawl, scale a fence, hop a fence, roll, Sprint , climb through a window, pick up a casualty from the ground.etc. what are your thoughts and experiences with that?
Do you have to adjust between muffin top and fupa or vice versa when you sit? Asking honestly. There are CCW channels that discuss the '300th parallel' where the belt divides the two if you are over 300lbs. So just wondering.
The pistol I have found for the skinny to average guy or girl that really balances the 3 "C's" + P is the Taurus Millennium G2 PT111. It is compact with a 12 round magazine of 9mm with 1 in the chamber that is 13. It has a manual safety and the + P is for Price. I picked one up last year for $199.00!
Leather has the potential to collapse, especially if you are carrying IWB. Not recommended unless it is a leather holster with an internal rigid frame. But that makes the holster wider and not good for IWB either.
Morning Just want to say I think you’re doing a great job on all your videos! I have 27 years of active LE experience and although I’m not comfortable with 12 o’clock carry I did buy one of your excellent holsters and carry it well at 8 o’clock with a Glock 23. I found your work in kydex is equal to Mitch Rosen and Ken Null in leather. I use a Striker Control Device. It Makes reholstering a Glock much safer and would recommend using one. Congratulations on your new family, best of luck you you in the future!
I'm struggling with getting used to having a loaded gun pointed at vital areas. I'm carrying a glock 19 as well. I've seen others use a foam wedge, or g-code clips which appear to help push the muzzle away from the body a little. It also seems to push the grip in tighter to help with printing. I would like to hear your comments on these options.
Congrats on the new pup, looks like a sweet heart and I like her name. I've been carrying appendix a little more now but am still most comfortable at about 3:30.
Great videos. You actually made me reconsider my carry setup and now carry appendix. Extremely comfortable considering I'm a decently skinny guy. Thanks for the info keep up the good work.
Bro your vids are awesome. I've been carrying appendix for about 10 years now off duty and on when I was in plain clothes. People used to crack on me for it say I was nuts. I can't even imagine carrying 3-4 o'clock iwb any longer.
Good for you rescuing that great dog. More people need to rescue rather than buy from breeders as that encourages irresponsible breeding and puppy mills. Great videos by the way!
I'm a "new shooter" and trying to think backwards a bit. So, if I had a custom holster like yours with the mag attached I wouldn't be able to get my holster into my glove box in my car and lock it up if I'm needing to go into a gun-free area. I drive a compact car. I do like your system tho. In that same vein, thinking backwards ... if I'm a new shooter and still trying to decide on that perfect pistol that fulfills my attempt to balance the 3 C's, for appendix carry, would it help to measure from the top of my belt to that mystical bend when you sit and use that measurement somehow in helping to select that pistol? :-/ I know ... probably a dumb question ... Thanks for the video.
You probably should carry a spare mag with you regardless of the capacity of the gun. This is primarily to be able to swap the mag out should your primary one malfunction. You can get a separate mag carrier just for the mag and put it on top of your gun in the glove box. P.S. If you have to put your gun in the glove box, I would recommend taking it out of your pants together with the holster, so that your trigger guard is always covered by the holster. Also get a non-collapsible holster if you don't yet have one.
Also on the size of the gun, 11-13 rounds is plenty, so you should be good with something like M&P9c, Also capacity mainly affects the concealability, while the barrel length (or the gun length) affects the comfort. Just something to keep in mind.
I'd add convenience to be the fourth C of concealed carry. It is more convenient to carry a smaller handgun, easier to adequately conceal with minimal changes to your wardrobe and habits, but you sacrifice capacity.
Good video man. Received my holster a few days ago and I really like the comfortableness of it. Will there be any more videos about pants besides the 5.11 Ridgeline pants?
Nice setup. I finally got my hands on a G19 MOS, slapped a surefire XC1 on it and ordered a RMR. I can't wait to get the RMR. What MOA dot did you decide on?
I have the 6.5MOA on both my RMR'd Glocks. i recently just picked up a Burris Fastfire with the 3.5MOA dot to put on my MOS Glock though. I think for practical/defensive applications, the 6.5MOA dot is a better choice. For distance shooting and precision, the 3.5 would be better.
I ran into this video on a google search as I was researching on getting a CCW and found this very helpful in choosing a holster (from your other video). With that provided with the training, would AIWB be good for a first time carrier? I heard from some people on random forums that AIWB is not recommended.
Not sure if you were just tucking your shirt behind your system for demonstration or if you do this regularly while you drive... If you don't, what do you think about the people who do? and if you do, when you get stopped by LEOs do you pull your shirt back over your gun?
I don't always do that, but often times I do - in the video, I did it more to just show that it was possible to sit/drive and carry appendix. I certainly wouldn't recommend it if open carry isn't legal in your state/city though. I can't really recommend what to do if you get pulled over like that, as I don't want to provide any legal advice. I'd want to keep it covered though in the event I was pulled over, though I certainly wouldn't reach for it if the cop was in my presence or even walking up.
+Last Line Of Defense I personally don't uncover it while I drive, I untuck the bottom of my shirt from the lap portion of my seat belt while leaving my weapon concealed. I do this mostly so that if a pedestrian sees it, or I give my kids friends a ride or anything like that I don't have to worry about causing a panic or anything... Even though open carry in Oregon is legal. Thanks for the reply
The big problem I have with appendix is body sweat. That area just seems to sweat more in the hot summer than on the side of my hip which means I would literally have to clean and oil my gun every day to keep it from rusting.
Haha yeah I find myself sweating there a little more than other places as well maybe. Though if you're using a holster, it should keep most of the sweat off your gun!
This is probably an old video but I'm just getting around to watching it. How does appendix carry work in an office environment if you're not wearing a suit jacket. Do you find an easy to keep concealed with a tight button up shirt or Polo. I've been pocket carrying an LCP 2 and I really enjoyed that but I also really want a Glock 19.
How do we get you to build a spec aiwb holster with mag carrier for a specific gun. Example, XDM c 9, Burris fast fire optic, xc1 light? Do you need whole set up in hand for mold or? Thanks for informative vid.
My edc is a kimber ultra carry it with a 3 in barrel. Went to your website. You don't currently offer a aiwb for 1911. Would love to buy one . What are your thoughts? Great videos! I'm binging today on your channel! Keep up the great work!
Not completely on subject but since you make holsters. Is there anything I can do to polish the inside of a kydex holster that seems kind of gritty, (not as smooth as it could be)?
You have said that you make custom holsters kydex. I am in a wheelchair so I sit all the time. I see that you carry appendix, I would like to have a holster made to carry appendix but out side the pants with the holster turned sideways with right hand cross draw instead of up and down. The gun I carry know is the Glock 36, 45auto. Would also like a separate single clip. Would like to talk a tell you in depth what I need.
Apologies if this is already addressed ... I've noticed a lot of the appendix carry holsters are one big piece crossing 12 o'clock. What is the advantage of that? I just played around with it using my usual 4 o'clock holsters for both g26 and g19 coupled with an IWB mag carrier ... why would I want a bigger bulkier thing? (Acknowledging there may well be an obvious AF reason - I just don't know it). Thx.
I can't post links here, TH-cam blocks the comment, but Warrior Poet Society the guy there, John Lovell former Army Ranger, addresses appendix carry in a few videos. He is a user of the Tier 1 Agis or Axis Slim holster. A video he posted a few years ago he was stating it was for the dual clip attachments that kept the holster in roughly the same place for your muscle memory. The other benefit is the holster and extra mag right there, or in the case of the T-Rex Arms Side Car Holster you can attach a few other things (handcuffs, tourniquet, AR mag, etc).
Really dig your videos bro! I just ordered a new holster to start carrying appendix. I had my reservations but after watching I think it's the way to go for me. Thanks for all the info brother! Dude, you got a pretty sweet rig too man!
I got my holster a few days ago and tried it out a couple times. I was a little bummed because it did not feel comfortable at all. I watched your video again last night and made an adjustment accordingly. Originally I was trying it at 1 o'clock but adjusted to how you carry. Also the advice about hiking up your pants before sitting was money too. I've been cruising around the house sitting, lounging on the couch, and it feels great. Thanks again for all your info brotha! On another note. I'm getting into real estate in the next couple months and it dawned on me that I will need a holster that I can tuck my shirt in with. Any suggestions or are the holsters you make tuckable?
hey mike been using one your holsters you made for me. I am overweight and it is possible to carry appendix. I found carrying it a little deeper allows for better comfort and concealibility. Also, like Mike said it gives you a motivation to get in shape. Thanks Mike for the great holster.
What kind of pants are those? I want me some.. Also, do you make holsters for other people to purchase from you? I can't find a holster to fit my gun/light/barrel combo..
Great video. Recently, someone brought this to my attention that I never quite thought about before. Regarding your holsters, if the pistol in holstered, can you squeeze the holster in on itself and touch the trigger? Hopefully I explained this in a way you can understand..
No, no good holster will allow the trigger to be pulled while holstered in the manner you are describing. That might be an issue with some low quality leather holsters, but no decent leather holster, or pretty much any kydex holster, would allow that.
I would absolutely agree with you. You'd be surprised, it was a fairly major manufacturer. While I have your attention, do you make a holster that accepts an X300U?
I like appendix carry and have been for about 2 years. I went with the G-26 because I live in a commy state that only allows 10 rounds so there is no point in going with a 19 or 17.
Vertx Phantom Airflow. But these are an older model where you could get multicam mesh... - amzn.to/2akAxPf - but that amazon price seems kind of like a ripoff, they can probably be had cheaper elsewhere.
Just ran into this video! 😂😂😂😂 Dude walks the walk.
DRW LAW, Esq. jeez spoiler alert much? 😂
Funny, you actually peed! Well, I give you authenticity points.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍🏻
It didn't happen if there's no video.
Men's AWIB Bathroom TIP: When doing your final "Shake", be careful not to squish a nut against the end of your barrel. Don't ask me how I know. Great Video!
Lot0LAG McGEE lmao. that hurts just thinking about it
@tehgreatmutato magpul tactical thongs will solve this.
I'm overweight by 30 pounds and appendix carry a M&P Shield. The key is to create a habit even if its slightly uncomfortable. Your body will adapt and in my case, having a quality holster goes a long way in the comfort dept.
Been 3 years since this post, any update and what holster?
Lmao I'm dying laughing. "I still have my..." & the video footage of you taking a leak. I love how you keep it real 100% 👍🏻
LOL, no kidding, I like how smooth he answers the bathroom question.
Right? But where is the video of him taking a shit? Haha
Same !!!
About as good as it gets within the bounds of decency, yet demonstrating it's quite possible to carry conceal and urinate in a public restroom. Outstanding demonstration of your knowledge/experience, and thanks for your awesome informational videos.
I would have taken his word for it. LOL
You have the most underrated gun channel on TH-cam, for what its worth I seriously enjoy your vids and learn a lot everytime you post. Keep em coming
Thanks man, I appreciate the kind words!
You're the best, "newer" gun channel I have seen in a while man. Great videos, keep it up!
Btw, we all appreciate the visual proof of you being able to take a piss! Hahaha

Hahahahahhaha! Bro...we didn't actually need to see you peeing but that's freaking hilarious!
While i was laughing watching that, all i could wonder is if that is even youtube legal lol
Hope so!
At least it he didn't take a dump. thumbs up for the effort though.
Or...next time use one of those 360 degree cameras. Probably will up your views. 😜
Just discovered your channel while researching aiwb carry. Your honesty and logic earned you another sub.
Great demonstration of how to take a leak with appendix carry.

Good luck! And just think, I use the money I save by not smoking for bullets and holsters and even guns.
"Tactical muffin top". Awesome! Good video bro...answered a lot of my questions, much appreciated.
Dude the taking a leak scene was hilarious! Great video bro. Keep them coming!
Great content and faq’s. I just placed an order for a holster and looking forward to trying it and checking back in on my experience with it.
Thanks
My main concern, is if you have to do something active. Low crawl, scale a fence, hop a fence, roll, Sprint , climb through a window, pick up a casualty from the ground.etc. what are your thoughts and experiences with that?
It's pretty great for active people / lifestyles / activities. Going prone though, it is not great for.
Right now I'm 330 and have appendix carried for the last 10 years, I even sit in a car most of the day.

Leather or Kydex holsters? I was thinking of getting the Galco Summer Comfort IWB for my M&P9c. But now you've got me seriously considering kydex.

Thanks for watchign!
how much do you charge to make these? i want one for my sccy cpx2.
You make holsters for lefties?
where can we check out your holsters at?
He makes awesome holsters!!
drzphx www.armslist.com/posts/6387013/denver-colorado-holsters-for-sale--aiwb-g19-w--xc1-kydex
drzphx Most comfortable holster I have ever owned! You won't regret it and he has great custom options.
What holster was used during the video with the knife sheath attached? Pretty cool.
I just switched to AIWB. But find my rig digging into me. Any suggestions? I tried a tighter belt, which made it worst.
lol "tactical muffin top"
Bro your vids are awesome. I've been carrying appendix for about 10 years now off duty and on when I was in plain clothes. People used to crack on me for it say I was nuts. I can't even imagine carrying 3-4 o'clock iwb any longer.
I carried a revolver, appendix for years. Then a double action semi-auto, decocked. I grew into confidence that way.
Did you make the knife sheath attaches to your holster in the thumbnail? And if so, are you going to sell them?
Glock 26 gen 4, capacity at 10+1, with Glock 19 backup magazine. Conceals awesome, capacity is great and its comfortable. no issue at all.
So I know he said that he makes his own holsters, but is there anywhere I can buy a holster like that? That thing is awesome!
Shoot me an email at mike@llod.us and I'll get you some info.
I'd add convenience to be the fourth C of concealed carry. It is more convenient to carry a smaller handgun, easier to adequately conceal with minimal changes to your wardrobe and habits, but you sacrifice capacity.
Can you make a video on the pros and construction of Kydex and leather holsters?
as a bigger dude who carries MP full size appendix a less rigid belt helped me a lot.
Custom fixed blade setup?
Good video man. Received my holster a few days ago and I really like the comfortableness of it. Will there be any more videos about pants besides the 5.11 Ridgeline pants?
So you make your holsters? Could you suggest one like the one you have? With the mag pouch and knife holder? It’s sweet!
I sell the holsters I make, but am not currently making/selling knife sheaths. email mike@llod.us if you'd like more info.
Hi there. Who makes that holster your demonstrating with the knife holder?
I ran into this video on a google search as I was researching on getting
a CCW and found this very helpful in choosing a holster (from your other video).
With that provided with the training, would AIWB be good for a first
time carrier? I heard from some people on random forums that AIWB is not
recommended.
Do you make a IWB holster for a Ruger LC9? With clip holder?
What’s your carry ammo grain? Still 147? What’s your option of the other grain size?
"The sound of your piss hitting the urinal, it sounds feminine." LMAO i had to, thanks for the video
have you handled a full sized M&P? we have a similar body size and was wondering if you felt it to be concealable?
How do we get you to build a spec aiwb holster with mag carrier for a specific gun. Example, XDM c 9, Burris fast fire optic, xc1 light? Do you need whole set up in hand for mold or? Thanks for informative vid.
My edc is a kimber ultra carry it with a 3 in barrel. Went to your website. You don't currently offer a aiwb for 1911. Would love to buy one . What are your thoughts? Great videos! I'm binging today on your channel! Keep up the great work!
0:56 WTF that was a faster draw than instructor zero!!!
I know this is an old video . But what knife is that in the holster? I also make custom holster over at GGR Holsters.
Not completely on subject but since you make holsters. Is there anything I can do to polish the inside of a kydex holster that seems kind of gritty, (not as smooth as it could be)?
I carry aiwb G26 gen4 with a plus 1 pearce, seperate mag pouch with a g19 mag.
Huge fan of the "tactical muffin top"! Awesome.
Where can I buy one of your holsters at I really want one of the appendix ones that holds the mag with a knife
Do you know if there are left hand versions of these appendix holsters
What did you use to attach the knife to your holster?
You have said that you make custom holsters kydex. I am in a wheelchair so I sit all the time. I see that you carry appendix, I would like to have a holster made to carry appendix but out side the pants with the holster turned sideways with right hand cross draw instead of up and down. The gun I carry know is the Glock 36, 45auto. Would also like a separate single clip. Would like to talk a tell you in depth what I need.
I carry shield 40 with Q series trigger guard holster dead center very comfortable
I'm a big guy, and of course only use your holsters, but I find side carry more comfortable.
? How do you go to the bathroom. Standing up. Love this video. And I will take the exact holster you are using. I have g 23
Glad the info could help out! The holsters I make are tuckable. Shoot me an email at mike@llod.us if you'd like more info.
Do you make your holster for a 17 w/mag holder, right hand draw. If so how much and how long of a wait? Thanks
What kind of pants are those? I like how it fits the skeletool which I use for EDC
hey mike been using one your holsters you made for me. I am overweight and it is possible to carry appendix. I found carrying it a little deeper allows for better comfort and concealibility. Also, like Mike said it gives you a motivation to get in shape. Thanks Mike for the great holster.
Haha thanks Charles, glad it's working out for you!
Great video and you covered many questions I had! Can't wait to get my CHL. My class is scheduled for next weekend!!!
Do you carry with a round in the chamber and the saftey off? Or how do you carry?
What brand pants are you wearing in the video?
Do you make holsters for the P320 from Sig?
Hey! Can you carry your holsters at the 3 or 4 position?
Another great vid bro... What work pants are you rocking?
Vertx Phantom Airflow. But these are an older model where you could get multicam mesh... - amzn.to/2akAxPf - but that amazon price seems kind of like a ripoff, they can probably be had cheaper elsewhere.
Thank you very much!
yeah, id rather spend the money on one of your holsters
Just some constructive criticism, your hand movements made your auto focus go a bit crazy. otherwise the video quality is great.
Yeah, sorry about that. I usually turn the autofocus off, but forgot, and didn't feel like re-filming. heh.
I have a Ruger American compact looking to get a holster made wanting to know how much you would charge for one
