Kankanaey Dance

The Igorot (Kankanaey), one of the ethnic groups in the Philippines dances called "tayaw" of Benguet origin that is not to be forgotten as generation rolls and the youngsters nearly losses interest in it. The instruments are: "sulibao" which serves as the drum, the "takik" made of two iron bars, the "pistan" and "gangsa" of different sizes both made of bronze.
This Kankanaey Dance is played or performed during thanksgiving-caled kanyao, weddings and other occasions.

Oo nga po, wala lang sila Igorot attire. Maski yong mga gumagamit ng instruments magaling din sila kasi kuha nila timing.

Sa amin na kankanaey, we call the dance as "tayaw", the instruments are takik-yong dalawang rod, yong medyo maliit na bronze ay pistan at yong pinakamalaki ay gangsa, yong sulibao in other words ay tabeb.
