I fully believe that tackle ended Joe's career. He tore his hamstring 5 minutes later and never reached the same level again. Plagued with injuries because other muscle groups were trying to compensate for a weakness in that area.
To reduce the risk of concussion and facial injuries, should the Definition of ‘A Fair Shoulder’ Jostle include a Duty Of Care ? ***** - no leaning in of shoulder towards opponent’s head - hands by your side (no high elbows) - no head contact - a run-in of less than 5 metres from a standing start unless you’re running along parallel to the player (in possession or challenging for possession).
I'm a galway man, but to be fair the tipp man was fouled first, the galway man held him, it should have been a free to tipp, then canning wouldn't have got hurt
A tackle? More like assault. No issue with a shoulder when battling for the ball but to take a player in possession out like that is not right. Played man not ball,more like a rugby hit. Not in the least admirable with intent to take player out. Of course there will be cavemen who approve of this.
