Mario.GBC definitely did really well in its execution and didn't try to go anywhere beyond the barriers that are clearly put up for software like that.
Also, I'd like to mention that the third episode of the Friendly Enmity series had come out if you feel like reacting to it. There's also the prior Lord X VS MX animations to check out to see just how those two got to the point of that full series.
