Because the capsule wardrobe trend coincided with the minimalism trend, I find they're often mixed together when they don't have to be. The pieces in your capsule wardrobe can be loud, can be prints, can be whatever you like! The "capsule" comes in through the limited number of pieces and being able to pair them together into many outfits. This is going away from the fast fashion practice of purchasing whole new outfits every few weeks to fit in with trends. So you'll see a capsule wardrobe will lean heavily on certain "core" pieces (a plain trouser or skirt, a staple pair of jeans, a good jacket, a white t-shirt etc) to create a lot of different outfits.

This is so true! I have seen some great capsule wardrobes with colour and print and that you can tell truly depicts the person's personal style! Hopefully, we can all get to a point of mixing the core with the prints etc, whilst still upholding sustainable practices. Thank you for your comment!
