as a fan of both of them and knowing what i know about them through interviews and things, i can tell that this song was written pre breakup. a lot of us had been noticing that things seemed off between them the last couple of months and when they announced the break up, it was shocking but kinda made sense because of the signs we'd been noticing. and apparently he wrote this song in late september. my theory is that they both started to feel like they were going separate ways, him going on tour soon and her busy with her album so they probably didn't have much time with each other and were drifting, especially since they were always together during the lockdown. i guess the transition was hard and they didn't know how to cope with it. to me in the song it does sound like they were trying to hold on but deep in their heart knew that it was best to end it before it turned bad and they started resenting each other. even though my heart is broken for them, i think this was the best decision they could make for now instead of later and idk, maybe they will heal and find their way to each other when they're fully ready. they remain best friends and still have a lot of love for each other and it shows so i have hope for both of them moving forward and know that they'll be okay ❤️

He never went to her premier of Cinderella nor acknowledged her diamond award he did show up for a day and got papped at the Miami family Cinderella and flew home. So he has been checked out for a long time and the pictures for this song were taken along with him wearing the promise ring he bought for them way back. He flew to Costa Rica and not with his security Jake like Mexico for two weeks to see a new girl her name is Olivia Bernard who lives there is a yoga teacher and has a vegan treat shop @oliviabrnd so no he isn't heart broken and the girl follows both of them she picked up her likes around June. Camila was blindsided and hurt they did great during lockdown but then the partying and drinking "EGO" came back
