Yeah Garp is on like a Mihawk kind of level. Without spoiling anything as you might have noticed by now Devil fruits aren't the only power out there. Just like with Kuro's dash and Mihawk slicing a ship from a distance, people seem to have abilities through training. So while we did see Garp not fully connect with his punch, the shockwave was the part that hit. I really look forward to see how much this expands.
Very satisfying finale. The end scene just summed up everything great about this show. I was also pretty happy to see Buggy pop up again and of course the wonderful Shanks. I truly can’t wait for Season 2!
You could just watch one piece arc by arc then talk about it for like an hour..for me as a One piece veteran I love the refreshing talks of the anime when u got fresh eyes on it
They have to adopt a Lord of The Rings filming style, where they film 5 or more seasons simultaneously in 2-3 years to keep the actors looking young throughout. Then, release them back to back and hope the hype is still real, so they can produce the final seasons. The Straw Hat pirates do age; there's a post-time skip that occurs around episode 500 or so. So, when it comes to aging One Piece characters, it can be achieved, but they'll have to do what I mentioned earlier.
The part about everyone from the village hating Nami is completely different from the animé. In the animé she told her sister what she was doing and her sister told the entire village but they acted as if they didn't know to protect her
Best change in the live action, having the characters all know and letting a child be tortured as a slave without one trying to do anything makes them all unsympathetic, even Oda commented it's one of the things he would change (didn't specifically mention it but said Namis backstory he would tweak) glad he got the chance too
Not to give too much away, but before he formed the Arlong Pirates, Arlong was a member of the Sun Pirates. All members had that tattoo…for a reason that would be spoilers.
Yeah, "Captain Chaser" is in the teaser😂. To deal with the age is simple, there's a timeskip in a future arc, in the LA, they can just make it so it took longer
Halo and Kiss, who also have a reaction channel here on TH-cam, watched the LA like y’all, and at first, they were only going to go up to what the LA covers. They LOVE the anime so much, they have jumped in wholeheartedly, so yes, it CAN BE DONE! 😍
I wouldn't be surprised if it applies for other countries as well, like France, but I can tell you that not only in the Japanese dub the original voice actors voice these characters, but in the German version the German anime voice actors voice them too. I have not watched it in German (I ALWAYS prefer the ogirinal language), but afaik even side characters like Shanks, Mihawk and Buggy are voiced by their German counterparts here
i didn't say anything about it in the last reaction since i thought i might be spoiling, but what i always associated with the walk to Arlong Park, was actually the scene included last episode, i mean Luffy walking away from Nami after putting the hat on her head and the others joining in, also another friend of mine thought the same thing and to be honest i didn't actually remember the other part until i seen your last reaction and rewatched the original scene to see what you meant, for me at least the walk was actually included in the show last episode even though i understand it wasn't quite what you had in mind, but that aside i'm happy that even though exactly what you wanted to see wasn't on the live action, it was still good enough for you to enjoy it
also, about the song with lyrics at the end, it's an original song for the show, it's actually Nami's theme for the live action, instrumental pieces of the song can be heard through the episodes since the composer said they wanted to slowly build the melody for it to come full circle in the last episode with the full version, the song is called My sails are set and it's sung by Aurora
We joked about the walk a lot but I'm satisfied with it. It hit the high points of Nami asking for help and Luffy rounding up the boys to go to Arlong Park. The sequence between adaptation and anime were slightly different but it works still. I also remember someone commenting on a previous episode was that the walk was extended in the anime where as in the manga is was shorter, I'm assuming a few panels. - Igli
@@RaggedyPack The walk never happened in the manga. They just bust down the doors to arlong park. The live action is an adaptation of the manga and not anime so in that regard it is accurate.
Netflix would never allow a show to last longer then 4 seasons tops. Even hit series that are still fresh, they kill them off because of production costs, and to keep the wheels spinning to constantly produce new content to keep everyone tuning in. I don't see this one lasting long, not because it isn't excellent, but the budget for it is pretty high with special effects, locations, huge cast, etc, so it will certainly be up for the chop sooner rather than later.
The East Blue portion of the anime covers 2 manga chapters in most episodes. But after a certain point, the anime slows down to one or half a chapter per episode. The chapters get pretty dense sometimes, and sometimes they make explicit events that happen off screen in the manga, but the pacing still suffers at times. The live action plans to cover a full saga in each season. The manga is currently on the 11th saga. It's still speculation, but the 12th will probably be the last. Apparently they have discussed a broad outline for the first six seasons of the live action. It's not essential plotwise for the cast to stay young visually. It doesn't detract from the story if the characters spend years or even decades chasing their dreams. They do need to maintain a certain level of athleticism, so it could become an issue at some point. Most fans really hope for at least 4-6 seasons because those stories are incredible, and there's a natural separation of the story into two parts after saga 6.
@the discussion concerning the Live Action catching up with the Anime: It's not feasible and probably not going to happen I will say though there are certain arks with in OP that are considered to be highlights. The majority of these big highlights can be covered imho and I hope they will
You should also check the One Pace project, is not perfect by any means but it could be what you are looking for on a streaming way of rewatching the first arcs. That being said, until Skypiea bar some filler arcs (and those are hilarious so it doesn’t lack value) the anime is very tight. It’s not 1:1 with the manga (Zeff’s leg for example) but it’s very watchable

But even then i doubt the live action would get that far, if all the future seasons are success, which isnt a given, all the future material will get exponentially harder to adapt, i doubt theyll have more than 6 seasons, which could adapt up to around chapter 500, close to the timeskip

That battle axe scene is actually better than the anime scene. The live action made that attack look way more powerful

I love it, its been on my Spotify playlist ever since we finished the show. I do wish they released a instrumental version cause its so good.

Luffy was on the top floor. Arlong was kicked to the basement. So the whole building was on top of Arlong. Luffy just the roof.
It's okay to use the wrong words as long as you learn from it. I used to call it as One Piece Live Action Adapter.
