Bakersfield....such a great distinctive sound....The amazing Ralph Mooney ..
Thank you for helping to keep this music and instrument alive.
I really miss hearing the steel on recordings...
😊😊😊
I hear Tom Brumley
BRUMLEY influenced without a doubt! He was king of the bounce!
Love the video! Working on west coast style right now. Mind sending me the tabs and tracks? Thanks!
Hi Josh, sure thing. If you can send me a request at: nathaneagray@gmail.com I can send them via email. Cheers!
Fantastic ... this is the country I grew up on.
Wow, definitely doesn’t get any better than this. 👍
Thanks so much!!
It's this very style (Bakersfield) that is making me want to take up pedal steel. Great video and playing! Thank you sir!!
Thanks so much!!
All of these songs were among my first vinyls, however I bought my carter (green) many years later and have been struggling ever since. I shall send you an email for your gracious offer of the tab and backing track. Thank you for the time you have spent helping many steelers, I'm sure.
I can listen to this all day long.
Thanks for listening Dave!
I love wavering sound. I never knew that this instrument was in so many songs that I like!
Cool ! I use to play & sing "Above & Beyond" in the band Rodney Crowell style with lots of short delay (Paul Franklin style)...well done
Thanks Nathan you really have what it takes!
Wish I did too but I keep on trying.
i love this sound..
Outstanding.... this is the Steel Guitar that everyone loves... & most players wanna play...
Good lob
Thanks 👍
i like it
I know it's been 7 years since you uploaded this video but you should do a full version of together again, good pedal steel instrumentals are quite rare
Great!!❤ Sounds like Tom Brumley
You don't know me but you don't like me

Dude you kick ass!!!
Thanks Connor! I like to play
Very cool playing in this style, Nathan! Is this E9 or C6 tuning? Sorry, I'm just getting ready to start playing on my old Sho-bud Maverick. It has three pedals and a single knee lever. Thanks!
Thanks! The tuning on this is all E9th. You can totally play this on your maverick. Most of it is just using the floor pedals.
that's bad ass, dude!!!
Awesome!
That is some great stuff. Love it
You had me at "Above And Beyond"
ahhhhhh....yeahhhhhhhhhhh!
Awesome job sir would love to hear more
Nice stuff
Great stuff ! I love this Mooney style .

Thanks Stephen! Been playing since 2010 or so.
Awesome job!
super sound!
Great playing! I love the Bakersfield sound and have been working on my PSG technique. Thank you for posting!
Sounds great!!!
Thank you so much!
Hello there! Love your videos! Are you making the backing tracks you are playing with? Also, would you ever consider doing online tutorials/tutoring? I'm a beginner Steel player and have been looking for a great way to advance my playing. Thank you for your time.
Hi James! Thanks for taking the time to listen! To answer your questions: Yes I do make my own backing tracks. And yes, I do plan on making some instructional videos soon...even though I feel highly unqualified lol. There are lots of great tutorial videos on out there if you search around. Happy to hear your learning how to play....best of luck!
@@NathanGray86 Well Nathan, I too would like to have some tab & tracks for those little short tunes you just played. I do believe that shorties like that have their place in the Learning World
Great stuff! Hawwwwwwwwwwww
Thanks a lot!
Country music the way it should sound!
Love this, thank you for posting
You've got it in spades.
So much sound with little motion. very difficult to learn and play.
There’s a lot of movement, just not with the arms. It’s all in the legs.
awww sheeeeeit~
